I was just curious if anyone else does here. I do. Don't have many though. My nana had some and she passed them on to my dad and I will one day inherit them. There's a silver coin dating back to 1811. A really gorgeous Victorian coin too. I've seen it in the shops for £75!! Today I went to a car boot fair, and rarely do I see people selling coins but one stall was today. I bought a Half Penny from 1806, not bad condition. A farthing from 1860, very good nick. And a 10 cent coin from France dated 1855. All for a fiver!! I don't think they're worth much. But just think of how many hands they've gone through. It's fascinating Is it true that they still used old coinage up until they changed to decimals? My dad said that the 1811 coin my nan had was likely to be given to her as change one day (she was born in 1908). Is this so? Chloe |
