I do, although I'm pretty hopeless at it but I usually like it simply for it being a fun night out. Whether this is practical or not, I don't know but I was thinking that in the future, if a meet-up was being organised then maybe we'd could try something different for a change like bowling. Reckon it would be a laugh, just depends how many would be interested. :-)

Yeah I've found that too, Bec. We had a company night out about a fortnight ago and whilst sober (was driving), I stood a better chance if I had been playing blindfold. The only time I played under the influence, I was on target, lol.

I like 10 pin. There's a gang of us going next month (we have the whole place) for an evening of 5 PIN - though I think that this is just a Canadian sport? Deb

OMG!!!! Last first and ONLY time I tried 10-pin bowling I ended up flat on me face skidding towards the pins. Well how was I to know your supposed to let go of the bliddy thing??? Arms, legs, knees and other bits everywhere!!! No way am I going bowling again!! Unless, of course, there's a cheap bar involved ....

because of the shape i find it difficult to bowl them pins straight

I can visualise the bowling technique in my minds eye but when it comes to releasing the bowling ball, that's when it sometimes goes wrong and without knowing it, I'm swinging the thing and pulling it in the direction of the gutter. My mate plays for a local team every Tuesday, but narrowly avoided being beaten at it by my boss recently, which is just as well as we would never have heard the last of it from my boss, lol.

We take the kids every couple of months, which is great because when you play with kids you can use the bumpers to stop the ball rolling off the lane. The kids love it because they usually win! Liz x

Great fun! Used to go every week in my teens and got pretty good at it, but not been for years. What's Whitley Bay got to offer? CB >|<

Zoe

Zoe Report 17 Feb 2005 10:33

I thought Whitley bay was all Ice Rink and wind (as in sea gusts not pprrrrrtp)

Andy

Andy Report 17 Feb 2005 10:37

Does Whitley Bay still have Spanish City? I know that's a funfair rather than 10 pin bowling, but just curious.
