Dirty wards? Surely not? I suppose it is all the paperwork that they are expected to complete - though having to produce paperwork to protect yourself in case of suiing - sort of defeats the idea of a HEALTH service doesn't it? The time would be better spent on patients and ward work. So stop the paperwork! Strip the patients at the door and don't allow any home clothes in! No visitors or if they HAVE to come in make them strip and shower even and dress in hospital pyjamas! LOL! I think Matrons are a good idea if the budget is provided then local spending is a good thing isn't it? On a more serious note, we are all thinking of Alex at our house and sending him all our best wishes. He has really suffered hasn't he? My little brother went through a lot year after year and now as a man he is still facing more. The littlest people are often the bravest. I hope he comes round and rallies enough so that you can soon be spoiling him rotten, he deserves it! By the way, if every relative who came into hospital had your 'do my bit to help' attitude we would have a very different set of hospitals, some like you are fab, but others make me want to weep. Lots and lots of love to the little man Alex Abigail
