Can I ask-Why do we need a Royal Family? Why do we need a Queen? Havn't we grown up as a nation and grown beyond this type of society where we are beholden to someone who through accident of birth assumes soveriegnty over all of us. In truth in the past they just had a bigger battle axe.The Royal Family is the longest line of judicial murders in history.THINK ON -Rose |

if hes said that, im disappointed and mad, he needs to look on here for compassion, weve all got plenty, but for those who deserve it, let me get this straight does he have to work hard and by that i mean like most of the men in this country doing heavy work day in day out, does he have to pay a mortgage and council tax, will he worry where his pensions coming from, does he have an elderly relative who relies on meals on wheels and has just been told the local council are cost cutting so will withdraw this service completely so elderly and disabled have to fend for themselves, NO he doesnt have any of the above, so i dont think he needs or deserves our compassion, his biggest worry at moment is can he still be king and marry camilla, woa big probs charlie, wake up and smell the coffee, is all i can say to him, and go and have a word with himself in a quiet corner snivelling little man |

I take everything that the media says about the royal family with a large pinch of salt. One thing I do believe though is that William does not want to be king for a long time, and I can understand why. :) Joy |

I fully agree with what you are saying but at the end of the day, what has happened in the past has happened and that cannot be changed, the only way to go is forward as there's not much point in going backwards as it doesn't achieve anything. Sorry if this offends anyone, but lets face it a lot of the problems with what goes on is generally caused by the tabloids coming out with whatever they want just to boost their sales. Sarah, x |

What compassion did he ever give Diana. He really thinks people are going to forget what him and that woman did, right from the start by what a lot of peope are saying. |

Well Marian, as you say, perhaps he should think back to the days when he courted Diana and married her, under false pretences. If what he is quoted as saying is true (you know what the media's like!), he really does have a selective memory. I have no loyalty towards those two whatsoever. |

I think his so-called advisors have ill advised him! Evidently they surmised the public would accept a wedding. I think he forced the hand of Buck House - the leak came from Clarence House and if Buck House had had anything to do with it - everything would have been in place and checked before the annoouncement. As far as I am concerned the fact that Camilla did not spend Christmas at Sandringham says a lot and that Charles left on Boxing Day to join her in Scotland. The Royal family does not want this marriage and the public do not either. I still say it is illegal - the Statute Books have not been changed re the Royals. It is a fiasco. Ann |

being an ex-pat I'm pleased to see I think like so many of my fellow poms ,I thought maybe I've lost touch with what the real peoples think of Charles and his 'horse's ass of a wife to be ',keep the queen but the rest of the 'family ' should be made to go out and work for a living ,If I was on his pay I think I would keep shtum and enjoy it. |

Wouldnt you think that with all his advisors that the wedding arrangements with have been made without any chance of any problems before the news was issued. Then he would possibley not have had as much bad press. Personally I care neither way, he will please himself as usual, let him get on with it. Pat |

Does he not realise that the likes of him should be 'setting a good example' to the likes of us? One should be behaving properly. One should get married (happily) and be faithfull to one's wife and family. One should not get divorced and one should certainly not get married again to one who is just as fickle and unfaithfull as oneself. hah! After all, who or what does he think he is - a commoner!?!? lol |

I've had plenty of compassion for him but I don't think a sweeping statement like that is going to win him many friends !! |
