Hi Joanne I bottle fed my first, 32 years ago, I was made to feel so inferior and a bad mother by one of the midwives but I just did not want to breast feed When my second was born, 28years ago, the nurse asked me what I wanted to do and I was so scared of being put down again that I said I would do whatever they wanted so I breastfed, until I got home that was-10 days later. Now relevent or not my first son has beautiful teeth, my second son had to have nearly all his baby teeth taken out, I was never a good eater and often wondered if I did not give him enough good stuff Anyway now if anyone asks my opinion, I say do what you feel is right, you will feel happier in yourself and therefore make you feel happier with the baby I am sure you will know what is right when the baby comes, good luck and much happiness Love Janet |

Hi Joanne, I tried breast feeding all of my 3. The eldest I didn't get the support I needed, the second didn't want to know and my youngest would only take from 1 side & not the other so she was still hungry. Sarah, xx PS hope all goes well for you, :) |

I breast fed both my children up until they were 8 months, they then transfered to a beaker, i tried pumping milk to give my hubby a chance to feed but both babies refused to suckle from a rubber teat. |

I breast fed all three of mine. I would deffinatley breast feed again. I was a nany before I had my kids, so was used to bottle feeding. When I had my first daughter, i thought i would try breast feeding. I have a medial problem with one breast, so was only able to feed with one! I fed my first for 13 months, second child for 13 months and my son for 6 months. I was quite ill after having my son, and do feel guilty about stopping so soon. But at the time I really had no choice. Pat |

Oh, from a man's point of view, breast feeding is much better, because I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to do it :) |

baby 4? Jesus. We are stuggling with one at the moment :0 We (well my wife!) breast feed, but as my daughter is 6months, she is also taking supplimentary food. I think breast feeding has a lot of benefits, and would hope that my wife would breast feed the next one as well. However I guess it comes down to individual choice. Watching that Jamie Oliver program on school dinners lastnight, and I think there are worse things you can do besides not breast-feeding!! |

Breast fed George for 2 years and one week. Absolutely loved it - we were so close. The hang ups some people have about breast feeding in public amaze me. I was asked in one place, by an embarrassed manager, if I would 'feel more comfortable doing that in the ladies toilets'. As I explained to him - I wouldn't eat my meal in a lavatory and I certainly wouldn't expect my son to !!! |

im gonna barge in although im not pregnant or a mum! (yet!!!!!!!!!) i wasnt breast fed, neither was my bro, my sister was and she was the one who got loads of illnesses...so breast isnt always the best (thats wat the peodotrictican said) My S.mum has twins and ronni who is 3, none of them were breast fed, it just seems so much easier and gives others a chance to bond with the baby when it comes to feeding. If you dont it means that you dont always have to feed the baby the daddy, aunt, nan etc can....although yes you can get those pumps, but i know some mums who have tried that and just found it annoying....at the end of the day its completley up to you...i'll propbably change my mind when i have a little one but for now im saying that when i do i'll probably bottle feed xxxxx |

Hi Joanne I breastfed both of my girls (now 2 and 5) until they were about 10 months, I'm sure thats why I lost weight so quickly after they were born, which was nice! Louisex |

I didn't with the first one (hospital cock up) but I did with my second for a long time! Had I had any more, I would have perservered and breast fed again. I loved it. Jacky :-) PS Good luck in what ever way you decide and don't feel guilty if you go for bottle. :-) |
