Met Sir Edmund Hillary, while I was at school, he came to show the film and talk about his experience's on Everest. While working in a dept store met Kenny Ball and one of his jazz men, the one who played the trumpet had lots of blond hair. And the worse... was chatted up by a wurzle. Maggie |

Where I worked Sultan of Brunai's kids used to come round after school. I've worked for the Austrian pianist Alfred Brendel and cooked for Lady Fermoy ( Diana's granny), Duke of Wellington's son and grandchildren, Dimbleby brothers, Lord sainsbury, Michael Howard, Antonia Fraser, Harold Pinter, Arthur Miller ( Marilyn's husband), Dame Edna's alter ego, Andrew Motion (poet Laureate), Simon Rattle, Sam Fox, Footballers Francis Lee and Kevin Keegan to name but a few. I lived behind Harrods and also in Hampstead and met the likes of Pauline Collins, Emma Thompson, Judy Dench, Boy George, the actors who played Dempsey and Makepeace, Esther Rantzen and Christopher Casenove when I was out shopping. I had a boyfriend ( lucky escape) who's father had made loads of famous films like ' The dirty dozen, Our man in Havana, Scott of the antarctic, Lolita and The hill' to name but a few. Famous people have to eat and shop like us and are usually really pleasant and chatty if you're polite and not pushy when you meet them. Louise. |

Must say first. My Grandad was in the same trenches as David Niven during the War. Arthur Askey held me in his arms when I was too little to remember, according to my Mum. Snogged Davey Johnstone. ( Elton Johns Guitarist ) on a couple of occasions. Will say no more. Used to serve Roy Wood and his wife in the Chemist shop I worked in in Aldridge, Staffs. 1970. Worked for Lee Electric Lighting/International in London where they made Steptow and Son. etc. Met Wilfred Brambell, Harry H Corbett, loads of times. Said 'Hello' to two of the original Lindisfarne members only ten days ago, that use our local pub. Jenny. . |

Ordinary places - Andrew Marr on our holiday flight, Rowan Atkinson outside Harrods, Rory McGrath in my local supermarket, Carol Vooderman at Wembley (sitting in front of us at the Charity Shield a few years ago). Other places - Westlife, Max Beesley, Matt Goss (snogged him), Bill Wyman, Tara TP (surprisingly a really nice person), Katrina (and the waves), June Brown (Dot Eastenders - a really lovely, funny lady) and a few others I can't remember. Daughter Fran has met loads of stars most were lovely and a few were less than lovely apparently! Daisy |

A couple of years ago , I went to have my nails done in Warrington with my daughter and as I walked into the shop I saw a familiar face...so as you do I said ' Hi chuck, you ok?' The reply was ' Fine thanks and you?' ' Yes great'...smiled and sat in my seat to have a manicure. Only then did I realise that the familiar face was that of ' Tyrone' in Coronation Street. We had a little giggle about it...what a nice lad!! lol Anne :))) |

Spent the night at Elkie Brookes house in Hither Green, London in the 60's after meeting up with her in Club 100 or Ronnie Scott's (can't remember which) - I used to go to London to stay with my boyfrind when he was working there. and he was friendly with Elkie - I think it was when she was with Vinegar Joe. On the Sunday a.m. Ebony Keys came round to help with some auditions they were holding. Met up with the group DART when they had been performing in Norwich and had a great party at their hotel. Had a comedian stay at my house each time he was performing at the club I worked at - I think his name was Chalky White but I can't remember. He liked staying at mine so much he brought his wife once - she hated hotels and usually wouldn't travel with him. Met Eddie the Eagle when he came to open the pub near me called The Eagle and took a photo of my small son with him. |
