I've lived in Essex for 15 years now! becx

I was born at the Herts and Essex Hospital it was just inside Essex until the Borders changed and some new counties up north were formed in the 70's. Its now half a mile inside Herts

My great great grandfather was born in Chelmsford and I have visited the Essex Records Office. Does that count? nell

My aunt and uncle used to live in Benfleet, and I spent a fair bit of time there (and Southend) when I was a kid. They're moved to Dorset now, but my cousin still lives there

I was born in Rush Green Hospital, lived in and around Dagenham until I was 23, moved to Colchester until 2000 and have lived right on the edge of Essex since then.

Hi I lived in Pitsea 1939 to 1953 - trained at Southend General Hospital - left there just after the Canvey Island Floods when I was Senior Night Assistant at SGH. Mother taught at Pitsea School for many years. Came to South Africa in 1953 on a years contract and just somehow forgot to return home!! Why do you ask this question anyway? I was born in Stones Green, a little village in Essex and moved to Walton-on-Naze when I was a few months old. I worked in the Post Office at Walton until I got married and, later,moved to Staffodshire, then Hampshire. We now live in Western Australia but I still think of Essex as home. Well I'm not from Essex, BUT i gotta bit of the blood in me. Does that count??? And I'm gonna be living there for a week soon. My lot lived in Colchester,Parsons Heath,Great and Little Tey, Earls, White, Wakes Colne, Coln Engaine, Hatfield broadoak,Braintree,Lexden,Coggeshall, Pebmarsh, Brightlingsea, Halstead,Castle and Sible Headingham,Copford,Maldon,Romford,Barking,Southen d-on- Sea, Tiptree,Witham, Mountnessing, Great Maplestead,Gosfield, Shoeburyness. Sorry for the long list, but i was hoping someone might live in these places, and shout me a beer when i come over. Tony Oz :>))

I was born in Billericay and lived there until my parents decided to make the biggest move possible - to NZ! I used to think that all my ancestors came from Essex too, but all this digging has proved my roots were firmly entrenched in the East End. LOL! I still LOVE Billericay. Sue (in NZ)

Born in Chelmsford, moved to Braintree at 20, still here now, 12 years on. Never felt any affinity with the place though. My bro and I were the first generation born here though, so maybe thats why.
