Home work problem, can someone explaine please. Question is: I put a new battery in my clock at 8pm Sunday night, on which day of the week will the battery run out if it lasts for a million minutes? Both of us can't get out heads round this! Updated for next question, you brain boxes! I do appreciate it though Thanks Kim |

Kim You are never going to need to know this. If your clock stops working you can phone the speaking clock. What age is your child? nell |

A million divided by 60 will give you the number of hours the battery will last - divide again by 24 for the number of days - again by 7 for the number of weeks. You now have the number of weeks, days* and hours* the battery will last - then add on to Sunday 8pm * remainders from division. I think! lol Magsx |

If there are 60 minutes to an hour and 24 hours in a day that's 1440 minutes a day so Tuesday would only be a couple of thousand minutes wouldn't it? |

I was so c**p at those questions at school. I used to get the answers.........eventually, but could never show how I'd got it. I had a wonderful maths teacher who showed me again, and again, and again...............still cant do it. Funnily enough I've never found the need to know how long it will take to fill a bath,if the water is going in ....and running out, at different speeds!!!! I mean WHO really cares? Deanna BUT..............Do your homework!! |

Sorry Bendy - I hadn't seen your reply. It's true though, if you want to know the day, you have to know whether it's a leap year don't you? Is this a serious homework question? Chrissie |
