Maz, I just learned how to do them, they are really addictive once I started l could'nt stop, my husband is teaching me how to make them with 4 different colours now lol, l've been making them for my grandson all over the week-end and l've barely been near the computer!! Apparently the kids are even selling them to the kids who can't make them. Anne x |

Diane in Essex - I've not bought online but use the websites to see what there is available and how many different things you can make. One is www*Lambstoys*co*uk and the other is called Danis Scoubiworld. Just google scoubidous and there are quite a lot. Our local craft shop sells them, but I could get them cheaper online so may well do that at the rate my daughter is getting through them. They definitely do not have a hidden meaning by the way! I've just seen the website. They're like the plastic laces that my daughter had in a blu tac craft kit. Goodness only knows what the bracelets look like that the Staffordshire kids are making. Louise |

Haven't noticed anything here in Harwich, but I used to make them when I was a primary going back 30 years ago nearly. Lets hope those other things don't come back. Do you remember the two hard balls on string that you held on a loop at the end and tried to smash together, must have nearly broken my hand with those, and the thing similar with one ball you put the loop on your foot and skipped around it, many bruises with that one. |

Teri - look in the pound shop until they are sure of what they are doing - then you can splash out 4 quid for a pack!!! Louise - NO they definitely are NOT those things!!!! These are not made into bracelets, they are just decorations. They are being made my 5 year olds and up! Maz. XX |

Are these the same as 'shag ' bands? They were banned from a school that my husband worked at in Staffordshire because they meant that the friendship had been taken 'further'. I've never heard of them. Louise |

Jean, they look like liquorice shoe laces, but are plastic and come in loads of colours. They are plaited together to make long strip things that you can attach to key rings etc. See www(.)scoubidou(.)uk(.)com for some pictures! Maz. XX |

Yep, a must have for any child (boy or girl it seems). I have a blue and white one on my keyring and am sitting here next to an abandoned one on my desk (went a bit wrong!!) B****y plastic string thingies lying around all over the house. Yes, when daughter asked for scooby doos - I thought eh what you on about (image of cartoon brown great dane in my mind) then saw scoubiedoos on the bag when I bought them. Keeps them quiet for a bit anyway. Kxx |

Blimey - look at all these replies!!! Yes, glittery ones, ones that are different colours all the way down, fluorescent ones. Scoubidou is the name on the bags, but I too thought they were called scooby-doos until I actually saw them in the shop!! Even the boys here have them hanging off their belts, lunchbags, keyrings etc. Seems like those that haven't got it yet, will get it soon!! Maz. XX |

Hi Maz I live in Worcestershire and they have been a mad craze here for months now - I have 3 daughters and it is costing a fortune!!!! Their pencil cases are so full with Scobis that they look quite bizarre. One of my daughters is so into it she can make fish, little men and animals with them. Oh well it keeps them busy! Tammy |
