Em and Linda - please don't tell me my mum's completely sane after all! I didn't know that's why one was unlucky. I thought it was unlucky for the person who saw it. Thanks for the info! Daisy |

Do you know the reason seeing 1 magpie is unlucky......it is because magpies mate together for life and if you see 1 on his own it is he has probably lost his partner ...hence 1 for sorrow 2 for joy Linda |

No thanks Em! Have enough of them and spend far to much time frantically looking around for a second one when I see one on its own! My mum tells me that if you see one magpie you should assume there are more and say 'hello Mr Magpie, Mrs Magpie and all the little baby magpies'. She is a wonderful woman but quite often barking! Hi Kerry They are stunning aren't they? We back on to fields and have a couple of pheasants wandering up and down the garden almost every day at the moment. The other day one came right up to the dining room window whilst I was on here and peered at me for quite some time! He was beautiful. Daisy |

Theres nothing wrong with your Pheasant he is stakeing out his display area this could take sevral hours untill he desides wether its a good or bad site, You do not have lots of femails in your area do you (look like him but brown all over) if he finds a lack of them he will head off for pastuers new and better S*X |

HI Kerry, we live in the middle of nowhere, and have the things all over :) they usually start about six in the morning. I can see two males in the field now. They usually just fly away when they have had enough. We feed them wild bird seed.( When the partner has gone to work ) as he doesn't like them in the garden., |

Thats a long time!! i wonder whether perhaps he may be winded then... could have been grazed by a car or something. perhaps its best not to disturb him then, give him time to come round? |

Actually braved going out in the garden but peeked around the shed to get the photo. Had images of it getting scared and attacking me! Had to use camera phone as our digi cam needs new batteries. Wish I could upload it, but can`t LOL |
