Diana, Thank you for you stirling work on behalf of Cancer Research, in my imediate family there has been cases of Breast, liver, and Bowel Cancers all resulting in Deaths, two cases of Cancer as a contibutary cause of Death and one case of Cancer of the Bones that may be able to be controled by Drugs. i myself have a problem with suspect cells in the womb, I think that most people if they looked at their family background will find that they also have cases of some type of cancers in the family. Thats why we need people like YOU, most of us dont mind making a contribution, but its the likes of YOU that do the real work , giving your time and comitment to such a worthy cause, SHAME on whoever has caused your threads to be taken off. Yes it's a a shame that GR have no had to ask for the threads to be removed and yes it broke my heart removing them.... but we have to play by the rulz especially now!!

Diana I'm not sure what has been going on as I haven't been on the General Topics Board so much recently. However, you will always have my support in the great work you are doing, so please don't be discouraged too much. I'd love to have the address if you do start up your own website. Love Helen

I got your email pink and I support your cause...Ive lost my mum to cancer & it is a wicked disease. But it does say in the message board guidelines 'Don’t advertise, or use the service for any business or commercial or charitable purpose.' Maybe there were too many threads connected to the same purpose,...too many for gr to ignore. I suppose they cant make one rule for one and not another person, for whatever the reason or cause. As said before, I think your charity work and the support you give Gaynor is brilliant Elaine x

PinkDiana Report 22 Mar 2005 16:46

Elaine, GR supported the fund and permission was given for the Great Wall thread before the guidelines went public, but yes you are right.... combined with people attacking the threads, it all got too big for the management to deal with..... and I totally understand their position.... I do not however understand the position of those people that publicly attacked the threads!! But hey that's another story!! Something good has come out of this.... I am having a website built as i type (Thanks Jan & Rick) and THE PINK FUND will now go on for as long as i have breath in my lungs to fundraise for it!! Diana xx

Diana, As they say out of the bad rises the GOOD. I saw the nasty threads by certain individuals, it is unbelievable that we have these people here. Poeple do not see the late night stuff because it gets deleted before the morning, but it's there long enough. Anyway back to the positive all the very best with the PINK website. Respect & Love Pat x

Diana For every one person who complains about your charity threads/work, there are ten people who support you. You really shouldnt get youself wound up about it. At least people wont have to trawl through several pink threads to find the bit they want to answer to or view. They can use your great wall thread as a base for the info they want. Elaine x

im so upset now diana , inappropriate? its inappropriate that a lovely lady has to suffer the way she is , and the fact you put pink threads on is out of being a caring person, people replying to them is just an expression of care and concern and wanting to do good if we study everything thats inappropriate geeze, wed question everything we say, in fact im asking myself is it appropriate i write this, pink threads werent offending anyone i dont understand sometimes why these things happen

Darling, You will always be Pink Diana to me no matter what plebs there are in the world. I only realised when i was reading this that I LOOKED for pink threads to cheer me up! You stick up some DIANA threads and I will look for them in the same way! The plebs will not dictate my taste - mind you they might then have a go at me and I will realise just who they are - I still don't have a clue. I am not sure whether it is because I am dozy or just so easygoing! But then I could be easy to confuse if they are using 'codenames' or whatever. Anyway, Diana, you are one of my heroes so you carry on! Abigail

Hi Pink While i can understand Gr's point of view on charities etc i do think they have it wrong in this instance. As with all threads on here if you don't agree with them you don't read them, and the majority of us are in favour of them. They are one of the best things about this board and bring out the best in most of us, unlike many others i could name. Add to that the fact that your Pink threads are for someone who is much loved, admired and thought about by so many of us you would think until your walk is completed they would have shown better judgement !! I am so glad Jan and Rick are able to help you with setting up your own website, 3 cheers for them :0) and i will make a point of adding it to my favourites when it is up and running. Til then, keep smiling and good luck with your training ;-) Yvette

Morning Pink Unfortunately for a lot of people, 'when one door closes...... another one smacks you in the face'. Thankfully this has opened other doors for you and your wonderful cause. It's nice to know that goodness does prevail over evil (even on here). Good luck with the new website. I'll be tuning in. Aileen xxx

Even better is I think I have found someone to do China next year, and then Paul in Hampshire is doing the Marathon de Sables...... so the PINK FUND will go on FOREVER and EVER!! Thanks to the people that moaned about the threads..... you made me get my finger out and make the PINK FUND a LIFETIME Cancer Research UK supporter!! :O)

Yvette, Wish I could claim credit for the website, but it was squarely down to Jan. I just poured the wine and contributed some artistic direction (particularly in the choice of photo lolol). Rick.xx

Diana, I'm sorry this has happened and I can see you're being philosophical about it, even though you're upset. You're doing great stuff supported by huge numbers on here and I'll def keep an eye open on the thread for the new website. Three cheers for Jan & Rick for setting it up. At least GR are allowing the publication of the address which is some consolation I suppose. Good wishes Jan
