Wow Kerry, you and my daughter should get together, she loves DD, but her alltime fave is 'Beaches'. Whereas me... anything with Jimmy Stewart (thanks Dad) The Quiet Man Arsenic and Old Lace (no laughing Becs-I know I'm showing my age) - I was rolling around laughing and Dad wasn't impressed as he was having 40 winks at the time. Don't know how many times I've seen it. More recently - Purely Belter - but I've been away from home so long I need subtitles to cope with the Newcastle English, and becasue it was a gift from no1 son. Magi |

When I was younger about 10, our teacher made us write out what we`d like for christmas to santa. I asked for Patrick Swayze LOL xxxx People may call it an obsession LOL but loved the film and can watch it over and over again |

Hi Most new films I only watch once or twice, but there's something about the old films which I could watch time and again. One of my favourite is It's A Wonderful Life. Every time I watch it I still end up crying. When the bell on the Xmas tree rings that means an angel has got its wings! Aaah. Aileen xx |

Bev here are a few of my fave lines from Dirty Dancing: Johnny to baby:Look, spaghetti arms. This is my dance space. This is your dance space. I don't go into yours, you don't go into mine. You gotta hold the frame. Baby talking in opening credits: That was the summer of 1963, when everybody called me Baby, and it didn't occur to me to mind. That was before President Kennedy was shot, before the Beatles, when I couldn't wait to join the Peace Corps, and I thought I'd never find a guy as great as my dad. That was the summer we went to Kellerman's. Baby to Johnny:I carried a watermelon. (PMSL LOL) Baby: Have you had many women? Johnny: What? [laughs] Baby: Have you HAD many women? Johnny: No, No Baby: [jumps out of bed] Johnny: Look, you've gotta understand what its like baby, you come from the streets and suddenly your up here, and these women are throwing themselves at ya, and they smell so good, and they really take care of themselves, [getting dressed] Johnny: I mean I never knew women could be like that, you know? And their so rich, they're so goddam rich, you think they must know about everything. And they're slipping their room keys in my hands, two and three times day, different women. So here I think I'm scoring big and for a while you think hey they wouldn't be doing this if they didn't care about me, right. Baby: That's alright, I understand you were just using them that's all [looks depressed] Johnny: No, no that's not it that's the thing see baby it wasn't like that, they were using me [Baby kisses him and they fall back on to the bed] Babys mum:[while watching Baby dance] I think she gets it from me. Johnny talking about baby:I'm gonna do my kind of dancin' with a great partner, who's not only a terrific dancer; somebody who's taught me that there are people willing to stand up for other people no matter what it costs them; somebody who's taught me about the kind of person I wanna be. Bev I got loads of facts about DD and goofs!!! Love love love the film!!! |

Mine's is Sophie's Choice, not exactly a feel good film, quite harrowing to watch but Merryl Streep is superb in it. Other's would be Shirley Valentine, with that gorgeous Scotsman Tom Conti and Falling in Love, again great acting from Merryl Streep and Robert De Niro. Christine |
