Martin I think the story about your litle one and his grandad is lovely.I have also enjoyed the other stories related on this thread. As many of my close friends on this site know,because they all halped me through it,my Mum died last November. She visited me many times after her death and then she brought my father who had died in 1941 in WW11. My father has visited since alone. It has been a wonderful experience for me,because even though I have lost both my parents now,I don't feel as if I have as they both come so often. My grandson still talks to and talks about his great-grandma. Death is far less of a barrier than we imagine.Our loved ones are still with us. I have not sought the help of Spiritualists as I didn't need them - Rose

No, i haven't Lisa. I did go along to a meeting with friends a few times and was never convinced with what i was hearing, the tended to generalise and ask for to many clues, therefore in my opinion there are to many fakes.

With reference to my last comment has anyone seeked spiritualist help with finding their relatives and was is any good?? I'll try anything now.

Well I m in the thinking of 'seeing is believing'.

i'm hoping that life does exist and that they do come back and visit as i need a bit of guidance as to where one of my relatives married in the 1700's. Just waiting for a clue as i'm not sure how many more parish registers my eyes can take!

'without doubt' Paul, in my opinion and many others' who like me have had expierences of the un-explanable. Although i do appreciate that unless you have witnessed it yourself then of course you will be a non-believer.

My mother believed in it very strongly and as a teenager I used to argue with her about it - she always said 'When I die, I'll come back to you and prove it'. She died when I was 20 and 30 years later I am still waiting for her proof. Also my dad re-married and his second wife was a widow and they used to worry like mad about what would happen after they died i.e. which partner would they be re-united with and whether there would be any fights! Whatever is the truth we'll never know but what we do know is that the dead live on in our memorials, as well as in our genes, and family history can bring them all 'back to life'.

My family aren't religious. I don't believe in life after death. My grandfather did and my mum but nobody else does. Lucia :-)

How is it 'beyond doubt' ?

Anybody who believes that the only life is here on earth is very naive in my opinion. Without doubt, life is a journey with many stops along the way.

My mother had a similar experience with my younger sister. she was about three and chatting away by herself in the bedroom. My mother just asked who she was talking to, not expecting much of a reply when the reply was that she was talking to Georgie, the man in the corner. Georgie (actually George) but nicknamed Georgie by all the family was my mothers brother who died many years before in a motorbike accident. He never knew of my sister. Strangely she has never mentioned him since.

i really hope so i've so much to tell my mum when i see her on the other side.

i Believe so.... when we moved into the house that we live in now i was only about 4 and i suddenly found an imaginary friend called Emily. Now i know that this isn't unusual but, it was my Nan's house and nan had nursed one of her sisters while she was ill until she died. That sister was Aunty Em! My mum still thinks that my 'friend' was Aunty Em, keeping an eye over her beloved family. c x

Hi Martin, yes I personally believe in life after death, from my own personal experience. Ten years ago this Nov. my Dad died, and shortly afterwards I moved house to an area about 20 miles away, which he hadn't known about before he died. One evening whilst alone in the house, I felt a distinct presence in the kitchen with me. So strong I actually turned round expecting to see a physical body standing there, but the was nothing. I felt this presence with me and I knew it was my Dad from other signs which are personal to me, and the presence remained with me till the next morning. Also, at the point of his death, I felt completely at peace with myself, an experience that cannot be explained yet it was an experience and a peace I've never felt before, yet it wasn't till an hour later that my Mum rang and told me he had passed away. Later when I checked with the Hospice, my Dad had died at the time I felt the peace within myself. Since then my youngest Son who was four at the time, has often told me that Grandad has visited him to make sure that I am happy and ok. This happened only a few months ago. So yes, I do believe in life after death, but everyone has their own beliefs and ideas. Will be interesting to see what other replies you receive. Jan

how lovelyhis grandad visited him!! my mum was told by a medium that my younger sister is visited in her dreams. its true, when i lived at home we shared a room and i would wake up to hear her talking and giggling, apparently she gets taken on a journey! x
