Go for a loverly twink perm dearie. You can use fag papers...no-one will notice gal ! Smother the smell of the twink in lavender water. Or even cheaper than that gal, Put yer finger in the socket....lovely tight perm to make Leo sayer proud. That and a lovely blue rinse should set it off nice. Fink we should all get old disgracefully eh ? PS: dont ferget yer twin set and pearls. Mildred Honkinbottom x (Pinny Gang) :o)))) |

Its a very personal thing Lindy as a young hairdresser I used to think ladies who wore their hair long after 45 or so were silly as it drags the face down and we don't need that but if you have a nice well groomed down to the chin length I think now that I'm near 60 myself that its lovely if its well groomed of course and you can then wear it up and do all sorts of things with it for a change which is beaut, I wear mine short as possible at the moment heading fo the heat of Far north Queensland but am thinking of a change when we get home as daughter getting married july 2006 and would love to be slimmer and have different hair style altogether have you found something in a magazine on a lady with similar shaped face as you that is a start , and you can then work on what you want from there. best of luck Lara |

Lynn, Do what you feel comfortable with. You had shortish hair for a while didn't you? Perhaps you just need a 'style' to it as it's not one thing or the other right now. You should have called and I'd have been round with me scissors! LOL See you for a coffee sometime Love Viv. |

My only worry (as a sixty-year-old who tints out the white at the front) is that anyone coming up from behind me gets a shock when they see my face! A good CUT is the most important thing as we get older. Our Minister has had her locks cut and looks YEARS younger. Lily |

Hi Lindy - twin here! (Remember?!) I've nearly always had fairly long hair, and late last year I asked my hairdresser to cut it as short as I could get away with, as I'm 48 now and thought the same as you. It's now layered and not quite shoulder length, but Bob says it doesn't look short - he agrees that we shouldn't conform, just have our hair as we want it (within reason, lol). What do you WANT to do with it? Glenys x |

Hi Lindy, I had my waist length hair chopped before I started teaching at age 22. Never regretted it for a second. Gwynne |

I had very long hair until 2 months ago ... then I let a trendy hairdresser give me a choppy, trendy hair cut ... and I love it. At the time I came away thinking that it looked great but that I'd probably wash it and end up with it looking like the child in the advert 'some eejit has cut my niece's hair ...!' I think it's the best thing I've ever done - more confident and look and feel younger too! Whatever you decide, though, has to be right for you! So just do what you feel is the right thing. S:> |

When My Jean asked me how i felt if she had her waist length hair cut, i thought about it and said 'as long as its cut off in one piece, ok'..........we still have an 18 inch light brown plait.. and now she has grey hair you can see the difference!! |

I think that you should just do what ever you want. There does`nt seem to be any real hard and fast rules these days. I have never been able to have long hair as mine is fairly curly and I envy those who do have it. Sometimes a completely different look can make you feel so much better. What ever you decide on I hope it makes you feel GREAT. Love and Peace Marianne. xxxx |

Seriously Lindy, 2 yrs ago i had my very long hair (to my bottom) cut to just below my shoulders. So much easier to look after and more flattering (for me). Go ahead it will look great. Wendy. |
