Diana.... lay on the floor on your left side.....legs bent at the knee....straighten out the right leg and LIFT only about 6' in the air.....repeat 8 times....then bend that knee and bring into your chest....and stretch it straight again....repeat 8 times. Now using the same leg bring the knee over to touch the floor in front of you....repeat 8 times. Then do it all again with the other leg.... Lie on your back.... and lift legs one at a time just off the ground and HOLD for count of 8 lower .....then both together...hold and lower.... GOOD CLASS.....Thanks girls.....don't forget your stretches afterwards.....or you will ache in the morning!!!!! Jacquie xxx |

Seriously though, swimming is the best. AND better than swimming.....is treading water in the pool. HONESTLY, I would not lie to you. Deanna XXX |

How many of us will be doing our pelvic floor exercises tomorrow whilst propping up the bar? lol You're right Diana. I'm walking everywhere but the thighs are not benefitting. Shall have to look up callenetics but that sounds interesting and Mandy's hint about lifting legs off the ground whilst sitting at the pc is great. It does hurt! I have to work 10 days at a time or I'll give up. Plus I'm hoping that the exercise will become really addictive just like the pc. Got any I can do whilst I'm ironing and watching the tennis? Paul, feel free to make rude comments! lol Daisy |

Actually bearing in mind the amount of time a lot of us spend sat at the computer I think Oleander is on the right track........... And if we pay a bit of attention to the pelvic floor girls we won't have so many PMSL on here.......... LOL Mandy |

Daisy, Sorry I jumped all over your thread. The stretches that footballers and gymnasts do are good for the inner thighs. Think it will take more than 10 days, though. Gwynne |

Callenetics really works if you do the excercises properly...lots of repeats but very small movements...used to do it years ago... Jacquie xxxx |

Sorry Daisy also meant to say (seeing as it is your thread!!) anything that you have to use a lot of pressure to squeeze between the knees works the outer thigh and forcing things apart with your knees works the inner thigh.............. if you get my drift!! :-) Mandy |
