Six weeks?????? Will give it a go and work six times harder! CB - I wore a different skirt and got the leg up easily onto one of the shelves around the bar (higher than the actual bar if you remember!). Daisy |

Chrissie, An ironing board isn't stable enough. You need something that isn't going to wobble or collapse if you suddenly get cramp or if you lose your balance. If your weight is partially supported on something that isn't stable, you could end up falling and doing yourself a lot of harm. Take care! :>) CB >|< X |

Daisy, I'm sure Steve at the Shakespeare won't mind if you put your feet up on the bar (in the absence of a barre) one at a time (of course!) and do some stretches. One heel on the bar, point toe, then gently bend the other, straight leg as many times as comfortable - not too many or you'll overstretch and ache, then swap to the other leg. If your heel doesn't reach the bar, try something lower, like a shelf. Wouldn't recommend an ironing board though! Works a treat, although you wouldn't think so to look at my legs since I've had the knee problem. CB >|< |

Oh Daisy - I forgot to mention that one of the callenetics ones can be done whilst ironing. It's the same as CB said about the ballet barre. I used to use the ironing board:)) |

Honestly truthfully if you get into the habit of clenching and releasing the muscles that you want to work on all through the day you will find that they tone up in no time. The ONLY bit of my body that hasn't given in to gravity (YET) is my bottom and I realised that when I walk I clench my buttocks......... Now I just have to remember to do the same to the other bits!!!!!!! :-) Mandy |

Great Jacquie that really works! Now then, I read somewhere that wearing high heels is great for your legs so perhaps I should be wearing those whilst doing the ironing? Daisy |
