My Husband isn't Romantic, but then neither am I really - can't stand to be too mushy lol He would buy me anything my heart desired if we had the money and I know he loves me - Men just aren't as good as Women at showing it. Kaye x

That's a lovely story, Gwynne. I see what you mean, but I still appreciate my flowers and him spending ages haggling in a sari shop in Singapore to find what he thought I'd like best, and the replacement wedding ring from Dubai when my original one didn't fit any more. CB >|<

Hi CB, I still get flowers and chocs too - and I do appreciate them. But your OH haggling to get you the perfect pressie and searching for the perfect ring demonstrates real love and romance to me. Gwynne x

Try dropping some hints Lisa - I actually had an argument with my Hubby to get him to propose! I don't think he was that bothered about getting married, but he loved the day so much and keeps saying he would like to do it again - Men need a kick up the arse sometimes, we organise everything for them (or I do mine anyway) and they get laid back about things. Sit down and have a chat with him - he may surprise you? Kaye x

And Dumpling when he does look at you and says you are looking great DON'T give a flip reply - but thank him or give him a kiss or both. Do tell him he is looking good. You may be pleased by the improvement. Ann

My fiance is romantic in his own way. He doesnt buy me flowers or whisk me off anywhere on holiday. Although he takes me out for surprise dinners just because he loves me very often i come home from work and he has left little notes for me around the house telling me how he feels about me etc. One everywhere he know's i will go before he gets home. The fridge, bathroom, computer etc and to me that is romantic in itself. xx

ROMANCE DEAD . . . . NEVER !! When I walk in a room and I look at him I can see how he feels - that is better than any of the other material stuff . . . (and he is good at that too) so I make sure my eyes do the talking too!! 34years later and I wouldn't have it any other way. Laurie

There's not much romance here, -but that's no change and other half would be overwhelmed and somewhat embarassed even, if I treated him as you treat hubby Lisa. Does he like it? Just wondered if he too finds it all a bit too much. Sorry, this is not a crticism, I think you are trying very hard to keep that sparkle there, but wonder whether we just have to accept that OHs just view things in a different way. Because he doesn't respond how you hoped he would, you may think something is wrong and romance is dead but the underlying love is still there, shown in a different way. Like Gwynne, I think it's the day to day caring and concern and occasional special gestures, which keep a marriage happy. Gwyn

Forgot to mention flowers. I could probably count on one hand the number of times he's bought me flowers in all the years we've been married. There have been some in more recent years, when he's had a nudge from one of our daughters. Gwyn
