Not sure if we've had this question before or not...I'm not a big reader but I was into Roald Dahl and loved 'Danny, Champion of the World'. Having re-read it again in the last year, I still found it to be a read that was touching and poignant but amusing as well.

I loved all of Enid Blyton books, and would devour the famous five, secret seven, the marlory tower series. Read them over and over again. I then enjoyed the Abbey series, but i cant remember who wrote those.

Couldn't pick ONE book. I enjoyed The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and also a book about a little girl who could shrink and visit her dolls in their doll's house - there was a rag doll called Lupin, a painted wooden doll called Jane and a rather snooty doll called Vanessa. Also vaguely remember a story with children foiling some criminals, involving a boy called Conrad? Think it was by Catherine Storr. And The Otterbury Incident by Cecil Day Lewis. I could think of tons more if I tried!
