Most tabloid newspapers exactly fit the bottom of the cat lit tray! and that's the best place for them. I cannot figure out however how emaciated women are promoted as being 'desirable'. Now, it could be a little bit of the green eyed monster on my part (I'm a Fern Brittain size 16) but to my eyes the poor cow (Kate Moss) looks like she needs a good meat and two veg dinner every night for 6 months to build her up a bit. It's very sad I think that no one seems to care enough about her as a person to show her the error of her ways - all the press seem to want to do is pull her down off her pedestal where they (and other morons like them) put her in the first place by promoting her as 'the face and body of today'. Let's hope the poor girl gets the help she seems to need and manages to get back into a more 'normal' life style before she is totally destroyed. Jacqui |

What annoys me about newspapers is the way they drag celeberities into a story even if they have nothing to do with it. For example, If mr. A, caught speeding, is second cousin to celeb B then B is mentioned even if they are thousands of miles away and have nothing to do with the incident. |

Lynda, She isn't in the Beano, for goodness sake. She's also known as Beryl the Peril - she's in the Beezer (I think) Gwynne |

The never-ending saga that is Nancy, Sven, Faria plus anyone else that has taken Sven's fancy is a constant irritation whenever I do pick up the paper at home. As for Jude Law & Sienna Miller, who the hell cares? Jeanette, Do you ask for your haddock and chips to be wrapped up in any newspaper provided it's not The Sun, lol? |

I though drug-use was rife in the world of modelling. They prefer drugs to food, don't they? That's why they're all skinny and we plebs aren't. CB >|< |

Pat don't start me off on the Sun! Oh it's too late I can't help myself! lol What kind of mindless moron buys and reads that load of toilet paper? Well that's it really isn't it? Mindless morons. People who can't manage something a bit moe challenging. And the worrying thing is .......... oh heck I think I'd better stop now before I'm hung, drawn and quartered! lol And before anyone has a go at me, my hubby and Mum both read the Sun and I give them a severe dressing down when I see them reading it! lol. But I still love 'em! |

LOL Jen Hi mate, you must do more reading on here than I thought you did to pre:-))) Hi David :-) If I had my way I wouldn't call those dirt rags newspapers, I would take them all and put them together under the heading of gossip papers. People do have a choice in buying Newspapers but the trouble is Newspapers report the News, they don't have pages of nothingness, they don't have naked or celebrity nonsense they have World News, Home News and things that matter to all. If people hadn't made the Sun (the mother of all tabloid dirt rags) and The mirror (only trotting behind it) two of the most bought (I bet not most read) rags we wouldn't be in this position today as they would have been history. I never buy a daily newspaper unless I am travelling I search for any quality paper to read. I buy a Saturday Paper The Independent and a Sunday Paper the Sunday Times and thats it. I care nothing of celebrities half of them I don't recognise or even know the names of anyway. The only time its relevant for us to know they take drugs is if they are busted for it otherwise I don't give a wotsit what they do far too many other things of more importance. Pat x |

Rant away Jeanette:)) I agree with you. This is half of why I get so pissed off because I wonder if the papers think we all believe what we're being told to! But I have to get my paper for the horoscope pmsl. I might make a stand and stop buying though. Hi Debby The papers have been reporting it in a 'isn't this terrible? isn't she bad?' fashion. They don't give a flying flap about her (anymore than I do) or her poor kid - they're reporting it to sell papers, they're going out looking for dirt on someone and are then saying they are doing it for the british public. It stinks. You're nice to worry about them Sandra:) I don't cos they are making their own choices and have such a lot of advantages others don't. I'm off now. Nite nite:) |

Newspapers ( whichever ones ) are a godsend to our troops overseas , they might be full of 'shit' but at least they can read the so called 'shit' in English two months later and experience what is going on back home |
