Just remembered a funny (well, not funny at the time) story. A builder who used to live across the road always had to take his shoes off before going into his own house and if he came to visit, he always took them off in the porch. One day, he came into our house and dutifully removed his shoes in the porch. However, his socks must have been filthy because after he left there were perfect black footmarks all over our cream carpet :))

Hi Jess Yes we all wear slippers-I have to take mine on holiday-forgot 1 year and was gutted:(( I remember having to take them when we went visiting relatives too-folks would laugh nowadays wouldn`t they! I always ask for slippers for birthday/Christmas-you can`t have enough pairs can you? LOL Diane:)))

Yes, I have several pairs; old-fashioned (supplied by my mother), cosy furry suede boot slippers (suppied by my husband), huge black and white cow heads - that actually moo! (supplied by daughter) and an ancient pair of trainers that have been downgraded to slippers (supplied by me!) Bev x

Hi Jess I keep a pair of black velvet ballerina style slippers to take with me when visiting friends and they always look at me amazed LOL:)) At home I wear flip flops apart from the coldest of winter. Then I have to reluctantly get out my sheepskin moccassins. For gardening I keep an old pair of flip flops (not very sensible I know) and an old pair of ballerina style suede shoes for when it's cold. Writing this down has made me realise how odd I am:)) Chrissie x p.s. I forgot to mention that I go barefoot except on cold flooring

I do and have several pairs... The current pair - sensible and practical for running to the washing line a sheepskin bootee pair - after bath to keep piggies toasty a gardening/car cleaning pair - the older 'sensible' pair (identical as it happens) kept in the back porch. Decent PRACTICAL slippers seem hard to come by now - all 'fluffly or flimsy. maybe there are becoming a thing of the past- when we were kids and we went to Aunties for tea, we always took out slippers - was only polite- These days people would laugh if you went visiting and took your slippers - wouldn't they? Jess x
