Aaaaaarrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I don't believe it! Went to the chemist and got the same 'lovely' assistant as this morning. Asked for my script. 'I told you it would be at the surgery to pick up' she says. 'No you didn't. You said it would be here' I says. 'No I didn't' she says (with a look on her face I was dying to wipe off! lol) 'Right' I says. And stomped off down to the surgery Receptionist at the surgery tells me it's at the chemist. Well you can just imagine the steam coming out of my ears!!! So I'm just in the middle of demanding to see someone when the lovely assistant from the chemist comes dashing in with my prescription. All nicey, nice she is but didn't once apologise for her atitude. So I told both the receptionist and the assistant as loud as I could in the middle of the reception area how useless they were and to stop wasting my bloody time! You'd think they would know better than to mess with someone who's given up smoking! I'm now wearing all 14 patches! lolol Jeanette x

I'm fine at the moment Sharyn, but as they wouldn't give me the prescription this morning, I have to go back again this afternoon! Funnily enough I'll be going to the supermarket for a bit of haddock for tea before I go to the chemist! lol

You were quite right Jeanette. My Chemist is fantastic (and gorgeous!) if there is any mistake, he will phone the surgery and if they have made the mistake, he will give me the medicine and collect the prestciption the next day from the doctor. He would not just give it to me without speaking to the surgery of course. Deanna X

Jeanette, If you,re classed as a 'Grumpy old woman' Then I must be one of the Grumpiest ols men around,If I don,t get the service that is correct, Then I moan like hell, Firstly to the staff concerned, then Direct to the MD.of the company concerned. If you do nothing about it the service gets worse and they get complacent.Keep at it. Hal.

Sue That's terrible. I think I would write a letter of complaint in that situation. I would want them to know how miffed I was. You might get a better service when you go back in again! lol I forgot to mention that the prescription that was in today had been ordered 2 weeks previously when I had remembered. When I went to collect it, of course it wasn't there so I did go to the docs to find out what had happened. apparently I had ordered it TOO EARLY! Have you ever heard anything like it? So the computer wouldn't put it through resulting in me wasting more of my time in the bloody doctors and chemist!

I think you are quite right Jeanette. If you're a grumpy old woman then so am I! If they say they provide a service, then they should provide it. It's not up to you to chase them! A couple of weeks ago on a Thursday my husband (who is on regular medication) put a repeat prescription into the chemist. He always uses the same chemist and has been on the same medication for years. There was a new girl serving. She took the prescription, didn't ask if he would wait, or check whether the tablets were in stock. My husband (who is disabled and on crutches) called after the girl to tell her he would be back in 30 minutes. She was by then serving someone else. When he went back after half an hour, he was told that it wasn't ready. Luckily the chemist noticed my husband and said he would do the tablets asap. The girl brought out his tablets and told him that some were missing but would be in the next day. My husband asked if someone could phone him if they were not in, to save him the 3 mile drive into town. The following afternoon at 4pm he went back to the shop only to be told the tablets weren't in yet. He only had enough tablets for the next day so he again asked if he could be phoned if they didn't come in. I went with him on the Saturday, when he was once again told the tablets weren't in. The usual pharmacist had been away on Friday so the tablets hadn't been ordered. I lost my patience with the girl (and I think I frightened her! LOL) complaining about the dreadful service. In the end the pharmacist phoned all the local chemists until he found one that had the drugs in stock. He then went and collected them for my husband and completed his prescription. I wanted to write a letter of complaint, but my husband wanted to leave it as he said he had to go back there. I, personally, will never use that shop again. Sue xx

Thanks peeps........I think! lolol It seems to me alot of places these days seem to forget they are providing a service. Valice - They probably aren't getting paid any extra for doing it, but that's what chemists do. We can't go anywhere else for our prescriptions unfortunately! Ann and Sharyn - nice to see you both
