Susie, I know how you must be feeling. But I think you have made the right decision, it is always hard to let your pets go, but this is the kindest thing you could have done for your much loved pet. Sue.............xx |

This has helped us before. Doesn't take the pain away, but helps a bit. Hugs to Annie. x A Pet’s Prayer If it should be that I grow frail and weak And pain should keep me from my sleep Then you must do what must be done, For this last battle can’t be won. You will be sad – I understand – Don’t let your grief then stay your hand; For this day, more than all the rest Your love and friendship stand the test. We’ve had so many happy years, What is to come can hold no fears; You’d not want me to suffer so When the time comes, please let me go. Take me where my needs they’ll tend, Only – stay with me till the end; And hold me firm and speak to me Until my eyes no longer see. I know in time you will see It’s a kindness that you do for me; Although my tail its last has waved, From pain and suffering I’ve been saved. Don’t grieve that it should be you Who has to decide this thing to do; We’ve been so close, all of us, these years, Don’t let your heart hold any tears. Author unknown. |

Be thinking of you, especially tomorrow. If I were paralysed and doubly incontinent myself, I'm not sure if I would want to carry on. Bri, Trader & Shadow. |

Susie So sorry to hear your sad news about your beloved Annie. I know exactly how you are feeling, having had to do the awful deed myself. It is not easy but at least look at it as an act of love and caring that you know that the end of the line has been reached and that she will just go peacefully to sleep and be free of pain for ever. Remember all the happy times you had and the love and joy she brought to you and your family. Take care I will be thinking of you. All best wishes Mary |

Hello again Susie. I've just remembered something that our vet said some time ago, several weeks before we had our darling Tiger Puss put to sleep. He said - tactfully - that if quality of life isn't there, there's no point in prolonging that life. x |
