these are hilarious. Friend of mine from Newfoundland says worsher - washer any words starting with a vowel come out with an 'H' in front and any word starting with an 'H' she drops the 'H' hole - owle owl - howl house - ouse hard - ard. my mom can never say molasses - it comes out maglasses makes me laugh like elllllllllllllll. |

My son says hostable for hospital, and yet he can come out with some very difficult words for a 5 year old. Dianne xx |

When little I would say things like tubbons and tottit (buttons/pocket) and my eldest daughter until a couple of years ago would say kate and morgnin (take/morning). Completely off thread but very sweet I think, my youngest daughter used to call a hanky a 'bless you', medicine 'mendings' and a marigold a 'merry grow'. The word I find hardest to say is NO. Now where did I see that ad for an assertiveness course? Daisy |
