At a physics class, I was sent by my work as I was too old for day release and he went out of interest. We must have found the focal length of a lens by every way known to man in the dark room. We invited the teacher to our wedding which had never hapened to him before. We have been married twenty seven years and although I failed the exam our second son is now studying engineering at University.

1st time was in the street with my friend going up to him and asking him to go 'out with my mate' just because she had a new boyfriend. I was 12 at the time. 2nd time was when I was 15 and going to the fair with a different friend, I didn't want to go as we had already been twice that week. We went out for a year. 3rd time was when he sent me a letter after his friend had seen me in my work place. He had thought that I had moved away with my family, so was suprised his mate had seen me. That was in the April of 1981, we got engaged in the July and married August 1984. Married 21 years this year! Was meant to be!

He was the captain of the work softball team and he was recruiting a new squad. Perfect gentleman though. He mistakenly thought I was engaged at the time, so we stayed just friends for a while... and that's another story.

First time, he was dating my friend who lived in the flat opposite, she dumped him and I gave him tea and sympathy. 2o years later I recognised this chap at another friend's wedding - he was her new husband's stepbrother. Didn't know where I knew him from, but he remembered me and the rest is history. Definitely wasn't love at first sight tho, either time. Not sure it is even now - more better the devil you know...

I had broken up with a boyfriend Id had for 2 years on and off and feeling pretty miserable. Went to high street for a bit of retail therapy, bought shoes too tight but wanted to wear them then and there. 20 minutes later, hobbling down high street a car stopped to let me cross the road and the young man driving it gave me a lovely smile as I limped across. 5 minutes later hobbling along still the same car pulled up next to me and the young man was very concerned that I was having difficulty walking and offered me a lift. (Yes, I know, I know, but it was different back then). So I had the lift and he told me he was off to France the next day but could he take me out that night. He turned up in a suit, looking gorgeous and we had a lovely evening. He went off to France and I never thought Id see him again. I went off to Cornwall for two weeks hols and after a week or so I rang mum who said this chap had phoned me from France! So that was it - met up when I got home, got married a year and a bit later.
