MY NAN'S SCOUSE! :-) She made some today but couldn't be bothered going up to visit so had Cook bring some back with her. Waited hours for this. Worth it though.

Gray, I thought everybody would know Aunt Sally...perhaps it is just a LIverpool thing. After all we did have the first laundry ( I think!!). I used to get mine in Crown Street, on my way home from school. It was 6d or 4d if you took your own jar! Happy days. Beryl x

Like Gray I don't know the true receipe but it's like a stew meat, potato's, veg, gravy

My nan makes it with chooped bits of potato, carrot, beef/lamb. I add the beetroot as some don't like it. Basically it all goes in a pan and simmers for about 3 hours and then eat it.

Some say our Birkenhead monks took soup across on their boats in the olden times so we invented scouse if that's true :-) Alas we'll never know.
