Hi Paula Thanks for suggesting E Bay. I now have the promise of a copy of Time Travellers Wife, a very kind lady contacted me and offered me a copy (she knows who she is ) ;-)) Chris I have used Abebooks but I am lucky that Baggins Book Bazaar is in Rochester, it is reputed to be the largest second hand book shop in England, it has a website if anyone wants to find out more about it. Ann I may be able to rustle up a copy of Hard Times for you, will let you know if I can, should know before the weekend Mike Poetry!!!!!!!! Dee ;-))

For second hand boks, i sometimes use www.abebooks.co.uk, sometimes even cheaper than ebay and usually a really good service and often have out of print books. Love Chris

I looked in every bookshop in town this morning, new and second hand for copies of Hard Times or My cousin Rachel. couldn't find one copy. i have the time traveller's wife so will read that first and try for the others at the library. Ann Glos

Paula Report 4 Jan 2006 15:50

Dee, (and anyone else out there who is interested) there are quite a few copies of The Time Travellers Wife on ebay at present - I tend to use that rather than Amazon as the postage rates are often cheaper. I will be asking round to see if I can borrow a copy from someone and fortunately have a copy of Hard Times packed away somewhere from an Open University course I did several years ago. I'm looking forward to reading it again. Paula.

Maz I am a stranger to libraries I'm afraid. The village one is not full time, and I never seem to get there when it's open. The out of town site I use for shopping doesn't have a library, which is a pain. I am far to hooked on Amazon and the second hand book shops in Rochester I'm afraid. Decades ago, when I first married and was working, I used to go to the library regularly in my lunch time. I really must get organised and make it one of the places to go to more often Dee xx

AnninGlos Report 4 Jan 2006 08:52

Result of vote for January 06 is: Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffeneger 3 Hard times by Charles Dickens 3 My cousin Rachel by Daphne Du Maurier 2 message in a bottle } Tenko Club } Far from the Madding Crowd } Whitest flower } Birdsong } All 1 vote Notes from a small island } Double Eagle } Vanity Fair } So the first two win with 3 votes each but:- I suggest that, as Dickens is not everybodies choice of reading we read one of the first three (if everyone agrees).
