Dee, Sounds fascinating. Am I right in thinking that prostitutes often described themselves as 'seamstresses' on Census returns? Tough if you really were a seamstress! Louise :0)

If so you may find mention of her in the Harris's List of Covent Garden Ladies (Sex in the City in Georgian Britain) It is a book I have just bought in my local supermarket, makes for fascinating reading ;-))
