I did it twice to see if it came out the same both times and it did - INFJ Quietly forceful, original, and sensitive. Tend to stick to things until they are done. Extremely intuitive about people, and concerned for their feelings. Well-developed value systems which they strictly adhere to. Well-respected for their perserverence in doing the right thing. BH CB - I didn't think you'd be interested in astrology - all these things I think are a laugh anyway - you can take bits out of each one. Think more your Scorpio with Leo ascending says more about you. Cancer with Virgo rising myself, but not shy or moody, perhaps a tad arrogant.......

Sally, I find it intriguing how psychologists can claim to have come up with these theories regarding the 'type-casting' of individuals. Astrology has been doing that for thousands of years and has been denigrated and 'rubbished' for doing exacting the same thing - it's only the terminology that is different. Thinking of this INTJ profile in astrological terms, my Scorpio sun makes me avoid the limelight, and my Leo Ascendant (which naturally seeks the limelight) is heavily overshadowed by a conjunction from Saturn in the First House which causes delays but also makes me a long-term planner (building structures), a 'shape sorter' (categorising and prioritising) and gives me a dogged determination to see things through to the end. It hits very hard when my plans are thwarted, but they usually are, due to the almost exact opposition of Jupiter and Uranus aspecting my Ascendant. Maybe one day things will go according to plan, but I'm not holding my breath! LOL CB >|<

I came out as an INTJ - Independent, original, analytical, and determined. Have an exceptional ability to turn theories into solid plans of action. Highly value knowledge, competence, and structure. Driven to derive meaning from their visions. Long-range thinkers. Have very high standards for their performance, and the performance of others. Natural leaders, but will follow if they trust existing leaders. ... which is very true, apart from the last sentence. In the words of the Randy Newman song - I was NOT born to follow! I've always been a 'leader without any followers' because people don't trust what I say. When others come out with the same ideas some time later, they are the ones people follow. I'm just the lone voice in the wilderness, but so what? I'm not trying to be top dog, so it doesn't matter. CB >|<

INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them. Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off. While annoying to the less concise, this fine discrimination ability gives INTPs so inclined a natural advantage as, for example, grammarians and linguists. INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to most anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves. A major concern for INTPs is the haunting sense of impending failure. They spend considerable time second-guessing themselves. The open-endedness (from Perceiving) conjoined with the need for competence (NT) is expressed in a sense that one's conclusion may well be met by an equally plausible alternative solution, and that, after all, one may very well have overlooked some critical bit of data. An INTP arguing a point may very well be trying to convince himself as much as his opposition. In this way INTPs are markedly different from INTJs, who are much more confident in their competence and willing to act on their convictions. Mathematics is a system where many INTPs love to play, similarly languages, computer systems--potentially any complex system. INTPs thrive on systems. Understanding, exploring, mastering, and manipulating systems can overtake the INTP's conscious thought. This fascination for logical wholes and their inner workings is often expressed in a detachment from the environment, a concentration where time is forgotten and extraneous stimuli are held at bay. Accomplishing a task or goal with this knowledge is secondary. INTPs and Logic -- One of the tipoffs that a person is an INTP is her obsession with logical correctness. Errors are not often due to poor logic -- apparent faux pas in reasoning are usually a result of overlooking details or of incorrect context. Games NTs seem to especially enjoy include Risk, Bridge, Stratego, Chess, Go, and word games of all sorts. (I have an ENTP friend that loves Boggle and its variations. We've been known to sit in public places and pick a word off a menu or mayonnaise jar to see who can make the most words from its letters on a napkin in two minutes.)
