Hi Kaz Thanks for that. I have seen a Whetton on the tips and records board in the past. She used to have a very long thread where she asked if she could help anybody. I have asked if we have a connection but we hadn't. I didn't think her name was Mary though. I wonder if I dare be a pain and ask Mary, in case she is a different Whetton. Chrissie xx

Sorry - been having lunch. Thanks Joan - will do:)) Zoe - We didn't have to make our hatch any larger, have a word with B & Q. You never know what you might find up there:)) Don't forget to tell us all if you find something exciting though will you:))

Zoe Report 16 Jan 2006 13:17

Chrissie I wanted to get her one for Christmas but she says no as it would be too messy getting the hatch cut larger (no more messy than her falling out of the loft and straight down the stairs was my reply) I think she's keeping secret stuff up there that she doesn't want me to get access to which is why I'm not allowed Z xx

were you absent for ten days cos you spent your £50 on cheap vodka?? that's a lovely story and just the deal breaker I need to get my Mum up the loft and looking for the photos she's promise dto give me for years. I would do it myself but being a short *rse I cant reach from the top of the ladder to the loft hatch - my fingers are about three inches shy

Thank you Jean:)) I hope that somehow you will be able to find out who some of yours are too. I'm sure that there will be a few that I never know who they are though but I can't complain:)) Chrissie xx

Chrissie, You are in what is called 'a purple patch'. It is wonderful isn't it? Not that I have had too many of them .... LOL. I really envy you all those photographs. I have none from the early days on either my father or mothers side. My mother-in-law, bless her, left me a carrier bag full of wonderful old photos....unfortunately no names on the backs, there is no-one left to ask and I haven't got a clue who they are. So pleased that you have been kept so busy finding answers to all your questions. Jean x.

Thank you Deanna. It does get exciting doesn't it. It's lovely as well, just being able to see the writing of Gt Grandparents. Suddenly they seem to come to life instead of just being a name on the census. Chrissie xx

That is lovely Chrissie. Isn't it wonderful when we find a link? I have found one on here too. I just love it. I have not sent her any photos yet, but I really must. I also found someone who is connected only by the fact that her people knew my husband's people. They lived in the same little town and knew eachother and the history was so interesting.....all coming from my husband's and his sister's memories. We have swopped photos. Isn't history wonderful? After all, if we go back far enough........ we would find that we were ALL brothers and sisters. We really should be kinder to eachother! Deanna X AND congratulations on you £50 award, enjoy it. X
