Hi Pat It isn't that easy getting children into care, and the children will often lie about what is happening to them to stay at home, no matter what Mum & Dad are like, they are still there Mum and Dad, sad eh? A girl who was 16, came from a family with plenty of money, but they didn't care a jot about her, they were always away, on holiday without her, and she met a man, who was a drug addict, she left home, Mum was pleased, she didn't have to think about her, the boyfriend sent her out to prostitute herself to feed his drug habit, I asked her why she did it for him, and she said he loves me, I asked how much she earned from prostitution, and she said about £120.00 a day, and she gave it all to him, I said if you want to carry on doing what your doing, then you could get yourself a nice home and have nice things, why give it to him, again she said because he loves me. This girl thought because this man let her stay with him, he loved her. Some children are never shown love and will do anything for someone to tell them that they love them Another girl who was 15, a very pretty girl, very bright, her Mum had thrown her out, Mum got a new boyfriend and didn't want her around, so out she went., she got into drugs & prostitution I saw this girl go down hill rapidly, she got arrested again and again, when I went to custody to be with her, I used to take her toiletries, she hated being dirty. She eventually went to Holloway, the good news was that when she came out she became clean, moved area, and the last I heard was doing well, I really hope she stayed that way. Sorry I have rambled on, but I feel really strongly about children being used and abused. Lynda

LOL Jacqui ;-))) Yes David we must not forget the teenage boys and young men who are used and abused by some in our Society. Thank you all for your contributions an interesting subject I do hope the Government gets closer to legislating without discriminating against sections of the community like the way it has been for generations. David, Thats so true, some of these boys are just thayBOYS! I did see a programme about it a while back , there mainly boysthat have run away from home, sleeping rough and are then approached by someone offering them somewhere to stay, its awful how they get involved , very sad!
