15th March...... Yes famous for the murder of Julius Caesar in 44 BC. He always wore a laurel wreath because he didn't want anyone to know he was going bald. It's true my dad told me! It's also the day that Andrew Jackson was born in 1767 and was President of the USA twice.

According to google I was born on the same day as George Pullman Alexander Graham Bell Jean Harlow Miranda Richardson and it's also the date the USA adopted Star Spangled Banner as their national anthem. Hmm Debby

7th July...... The German musician Gustave Mahler was born on this day in 1860. He wrote the longest orchestral symphony of all time. Symphony No.3 in D Minor required not only a full orchestra but both a womens' and boys' choir. Oh and an organ. His performances could last a good 90 minutes!

3rd March.... Oh on that day in 1941 Frankie Howard was born. Lets not forget the Alamo (loved that film). That day marked the end of a 12 day battle. And of course, something closer to home for me. That's the day when the folks in the Hebrides hid thousands of gallons of whisky which had come ashore from a shipwrecked boat. Didn't they base that film Whisky Galore in that? Pat where are you?

8th June..... The prophet Mohammed died on this day in 632. Legend says that although he thought dogs were unclean, he had a deep respect for cats. He once cut off his sleeve so as not to disturba sleeping cat as he was getting up.

27th March.... James I of England died on this day in 1625. Now listen up all you NOW non smokers (me included)! After Sir Walter Raleigh introduced tobacco to England, James wrote what was probably the first government health warning........ a booklet condemning smoking as dangerous and anti social. Have you paid attention! No.....

30th September....... James Dean, remember him, that handsome young man. He died on this day in 1955. If he had still been alive today he would have been 75yrs old.
