I had received the worst possible news during the week and I really didn't want to go to the meet. So glad I did. It took my mind off my worries for a few hours, I met some really lovely people and enjoyed myself. Daniel, Wish I had spoken to you on the phone but Bec wanted to keep you all to herself lol. Sorry I missed most of you, but glad you all enjoyed it. David and I spent an hour or so in good company with Jan and Rick in the pub, having finally arrived after everyone else had gone. That's got to be the weakest gin I've ever tasted! LOL Thank you, Maz, for bringing GB's outfit. Jean, I'm glad to see the outing cheered you up. Having never been to Chelmsford before, we found the journey home quite interesting, as with so little lighting on the road outside town, we managed to find ourselves in the wilds of darkest Essex, on the wrong stretch of road, heading for Southend!!! Eventually, we came across a signpost to the A12 to Cambridge and took that, ending up on the A414 somewhere in the region of Harlow. From there, it was a straight run home. I think next time we decide to take the scenic route, it would be more picturesque in daylight! LOL CB >|< |

We have just got home - We had a great time - it was nice meeting some new peeps and couldnt get over how grannie annie does not look like a grannie annie (if that makes sense) We had a lovely meal last night in the hotel obviously accompanied by a few bottles of wine. We stopped on the way home( this morning) in Shenfield - My G Grandads family came from there - so Rick thoroughly enjoyed his frosty trek around the cemetry. Anyway special thanks to Bec for arranging it and special hugs to My Auntie Jean Love Jan xx |
