Actually looking at the Treasury Casino site I've noted a few of the function rooms. Surveyors Room........once home to Queensland gov. surveyors. Map Room................home of surveyance maps and plans. Cabinet Room...........Once used by State Cabinet. Court Lounge............Past home of the land court. So keeping all this in mind, I figure the room where we once went to collect BD&M certs is now the Certifiable Room...........where we send those who misbehave. lol !!! *wonders if they supply padded walls and straight jackets* |

Trifley..........not a loony? Are you sure 'bout that. I'm actually wondering how I'm supposed to explain to the casino staff why a woman who goes by the name of Wine Trifle, thinks she's a pharaoh queen and talks to imaginary 7ft tall Nefers isn't locked away at Wolsten Park Hospital. Be warned, I WILL be bringing a straight jacket to the BrisVegas meet. *goes away to study casino floor plan for quick escape* |

Afternoon Wattlers. Yes, cold in Melbourne also, and the heater is on. Must be the cold coming up form Tassie to Victoria, so we will pass it on up through N.S.W and on to Q.L.D.......lol Having a nice Chocolate Donught and a hot Chocolate....yum Reading the threads it looks like all the Hubbies are in the Dog house ( nothing unusual )....:>)) Roast Laaamb ( baaaaa.. ) for tea tonight, with roast vegies, and a nice bottle of Ricaadonna. Grandaughters birthday tomorrow, she will be turning 5...... so up to daughters place tomorrow night for Tea. Fairy bread,Sausage rolls, Party pies, Lamingtons, Hot dogs,Cake, and nibblies, entrance fee is one present....( cheap night out ).... I love kids parties...cos i can pig out......lol Best wishes to Joodle. Hope your feeling better mate. x Found an old letter written in Ink.....probably a Quill pen, while visiting my mum today. It was from my dad ( as a 13 year old ) to his mum in Melbourne 1932. It states he was living in Kyneton on a farm, and they had shot a few rabbits for tea. He also said he received a wire ( probably Telegram ) and a parcel of clothes. He says his size was a 13+1 and the pants she sent him, were to big. He also asked his mum if he could finish School as he was turning 13 soon, and he could catch a few rabbits to earn a few pence. His savings had inceased to ten shilling now, and he wanted to come back down to Melbourne to live. The letter says among other things, that they had killed the pigs. Quote:We have killed the Pigs, and it was fun to see them running around with blood streaming from there cut necks, we are having Pork bones as well. I never knew this letter existed, and it was while i was searching for Photo's in my mums house. So a treasure for me to find this. Very happy chap at the moment. Tony Oz...:>)) |

Afternoon you lot. sheesh you can talk. shopping was a disaster. I hate it when you have something in mind and you can't find it. Now I have a wedding to go to the following Sunday, so I deffo need something. Looks like it's a trip to town. :-(( I hate town. thanks for the casino stuff. shouldn't be too hard to accommodate a sedate group of middle age and beyond genealogists..............bugger!! Who am I trying to kid. What I mean is they won't notice us if we blend in with all the loud mouthed gamblers. I figure the ones crying over lost fortunes will make the most noise. Off for a coffee, back later. Rebs x |
