My brain is spinning tonight - trying to sort out this wretched family - have pages of stuff to check out .. but enough is enough .. I need play time, read time, or something! I have a lot of fun with the 5 letter and 4 letter game. .. Good to see a lot of Wattlers participating. Wonder how far our Lara has progressed today, and how Tony & Barbara are doing. Think I'll go to bed and read a book - bed is lovely and warm. Tooroo - see you all in the morning *doesn't go off singing like Trifley cause she doesnt want to wake up the neighbours* Jood

Evening all - been floating around :) Even did a bit of genie work - I do love my speaking program. Just sat and read an old Eulogy from a newspaper and the lovely program typed it up for me :) I've just invited a lady from Shell Harbour (NSW), called Yvette to pop in and say hi if she wishes. So if she does, please don't frighten her!! OK? of to bed myself as Hubby has been home sick all day and wants an early night. ~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny

Oh I despise House. He is so bitter and twisted. And the hospital scenes are pure fantasy - as if the rellies would be watching all those procedures. Why am I drawn to it - like a moth to a light. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Lew - so sorry to hear the hearing aids weren't a success. It must be very frustrating for Terry. I'm sure my hearing is not what it used to be - I seem to have the TV up louder than in the past. Maybe the TV is on the blink!!!!!!!!!!! Have you heard all the low down about the ex yet - any bits we don't know about???? Tomorrow we have our 'Term Break-up' for our walking group - a lovely pub lunch. Oh, so much walking to do to get rid of the extra calories! And I've just discovered orange Tim Tams - they are yummy!!! I think I should go for a long walk right now!! :>( Anna

Hey, Tassie, that's a great height. I'm 5'10' too! Use to hate it as a kid, but now am very happy. Mary, the hearing aids were digital, it's just that Terry's problem was very specific. Not just loss from age, but from National Service. Lew xxx

Evening (again) Anna, I think tomorrow is the shortest day of the year. Congrats to Katherine - glad she likes the coat (at that price). Hope Dixie is okay, give her lots of cuddles. Lew, you like I have someone who prefers to cook. My OH has done the cooking for years. He enjoys doing it and I'm not complaining. I hate cooking so I think he thought if he didn't do it, he might starve to death - not. Trifley, I have to type one handed lots of time. If I don't give Slater lots of pats and strokes down the body, he lets me know by tapping on my leg - only thing is, he forgets to pull his claws in and I quite ofter have little trickles of blood running down my leg. Started to write this an hour ago but a girlfriend rang and chatted but has gone now as 'blues eyes' is nearly on. I will have to hurry. Will call in later Pam

Evening All Well I had a full day at the Library with not a lot of success, but not to worry I used their heating instead of mine lol. I had to laugh at the weather report tonight. As you know we have had no rain for a long time, maybe one day in the last month. Well the weather reporter said it was so dry here that even the cows were giving powdered milk !!!!!!!! However rain is predicted for the next 3 days so we should get rain at least one day pmsl. They have just announced over here that Warner Bros are coming to the party and helping out with the research into the Tassie Devil Tumour. You can buy a big soft toy Taz Devil, they are only making about 5000, but they didnt say where you can buy them from, otherwise I could bring one with me when I come to Sydney, it would make it easy to pick me out in a crowd lol. Ok Im gonna go and see what I have missed on the thread today. Hopefully you havent been too chatty lol. Cheers Sue

Evening all :) Errrum Jood, we are in Australia (even if we do get used to having funny times on our computer screens) we are heading towards Spring! Hurray!!!!! :) The days are getting longer, the days are getting longer........... I like Winter actually but my favoutite has to be Autumn in Canberra. Not fond of heat. The fish pond ice melted today so it must have been above freezing for a while! ~~~~~~~~~ to everyone and all the little animals. My cat and dog are stretched out in front of the fire :) Vonny

Take heart all that dislike winter - things will get better tomorrow. Todays is the winter solstice - the shortest day! so we are on our way to warmer weather. Still at work, look like being here for another couple of hours - Ken has run into probs with an auto transmission, so I rang and begged Jonathon to please cook dinner, fingers x its something yummy he is such a good cook when he can be bothered. Have resorted to my knitting - can't look at ancestry any longer, getting peeved off. As long as I'm home for 8.30 do not want to miss my favourite doctor - mmmmmmmmm - Dr House! his gorgeous blue eyes and that ascerbic tongue. jude

Hi Anna....it's a good thing Katherine likes the coat....you wouldn't want to pay that much for one wear. Sending a 'pat' for Dixie. TX

No, no, the aids were on a month's free trial, thank goodness, else we would have been $8,800 out of pocket! Trifley, some of the sign language I use, he wouldn't want to see, lol. Anna, Terry will be home around 7pm and wants to cook pasta. Who am I to stop him, lol. That's good news about Katherine's results, well done. Lew Lew x

Hi Lew...So you've spent all that money for them not to work ? Perhaps he can leave one each for the sons in his will...pmsl. The only trouble with sign language is the person has to be looking at you....not a great help if he's on the phone. TX Trying to type with one hand....dog has decided she wants to be cuddled.

Afternoon Wattlers Seems everyone has the shivers today - it must be the shortest day of the year this week. Dixie is back home after her little trip to the VET. Unfortunatey, the vet couldn't really find anything wrong with her back teeth, so it may be something more sinister which is causing her lack of appetite. We just have to wait and see if the bits of snipping he did to her long front teeth do the trick. Poor little soul - she was sooo good. 1 more day of school for Katherine - she's been quite pleased with her results so far - she should have the rest of her results today but she's still at band practice. Hope your daughter has a wonderful time in NZ Heather. How exciting for her. Katherine is off to Canberra and Sydney in 2 week's time so I have to get some more warm things for her also. The girls have been given strict instructions to wear closed shoes, tights and not knee highs, no bare midriffs, and plenty of layer dressing so they can peel off once they get inside air conditioned buildings. I had to buy her a regulation school overcoat - I've never bothered before as it's not usually cold enough - $105! Fortunately, it's a very smart mohair coat, dark navy blue, without any school ID on it, so she likes it and can wear it with jeans etc. Katherine loves to shop but she's into the grunge look so I would never presume to buy clothes for her anymore. Black is good and more black is better! Sounds as if some of you are actually doing some family history!! I must get back to it one day! I had my final memoir writing group this afternoon but the lady who took us for the classes with U3A also does private classes so I am going to enrol with her as it's so much fun - we have a ball. It's so interesting hearing stories about other people's lives. Might start thinking about getting some dinner ready - hmmmmm..... I need a Terry in my life to cook for me. Is he home yet Lew? At least my dear OH is good at peeling vegies and he always helps to dish up dinner and to clean up afterwards so I can't complain too much. And he always compliments the cook - that can't be bad. Will pop back later as himself will be watching Prison Break on TV which I can't stand - then again I may watch House on the other telly. I saw the shorts and it's about a man with a huge testicle! Sounds fascinating! Luv Anna

Afternoon Wattlers. I just like the seasons to be definite! Hot summer, cold winter and warm spring & autumn. Laurie, I've popped the photo in Colleen's letterbox. Has she got a new car? Terry's on his way back from Sydney. Hearing Aids a failure. The guy confesses that the technology still isn't good enough for Terry's problem, so I guess it's back to sign language, lol.
