Good evening Wattlers Have not been on here today - out with darling daughter shopping! We had to meet someone who was selling pre-owned Doc Martin knee high leather boots for $90 - they are $400 to buy new! Boots fitted and daughter is thrilled to bits. They look as if they have scarcely been worn so she is taking them to Sydney/Canberra to keep her warm. She was paying of course - not me! Hi Lara - glad you are safely in Brisvegas. You will love Menopause the Musical - it is sooooo funny. Happy anniversary to Devly and David and Jude and Ken. How exciting that you are both going to the Sydney meet - sounds as if it will be a blast. Yvette - we are all hot air you know - I sat on one glass of merlot for the entire Brisbane Casino meet - I drink very little. The company and conversation is fantastic whether you drink or not. And Trifley and I were just mucking about with our feather boas and Trifley's tiara - we just wore them over pants and tops so don't worry about 'power dressing' whatever you do. Trifley me luv - yes - we'll be near the coast on Thursday 13th July. We can easily come down the mountain for lunch. It is our last day so would head for home after that. Dixie is still not eating - she is not well poor little pet. Isn't even interested in the puree etc that I've been giving her. I fear we will have a sad week ahead. Best go and get some dinner ready - maybe everything thrown in a pot like a curried mince. It's a bit bleak outside so a 'hot pot' would warm the cockles of our hearts! thats sounds pretty good to me. i'm not an excessive bling type of girl. pushing it to be any bling. i just sent an email to a cous, several times removed who lives in qld. only part of the family on my paternal (gypsy) side that we know was transported. only just 'met' her although we don;'t share a lot of family. she has relos still in tasmania. most of mine are still in the uk. i thought she might like to read/write in this bit. i'de never even seen wattlers before as for the reason i started fh, i wanted to give my ex husband (father of 2 eldest)and his twin sister a really good 50th b'day present. i had started seriously about 5 years previous to that. that was 2 years ago. they have most of their family originally transported here. most of their families from 1800's are here, i'm waffling now. going to check dinner -what happened ,no hints on what to cook love yvette

Evening all Yvette…what you do is talk & eat then talk then eat & talk then talk then talk & eat some more….pmsl. There is usually one conversation going about FH and several others about various subjects. The trick is to be in on all the conversations at the same time. You can do it easy…you’re a woman..lol Vonny…not long now to Thailand. Has Wattle bear arrived at your place yet? Don’t forget to allow for his luggage when you work out the weight of the bags. Pam…I’ve been talking to SuzyQ about the Gold Coast mini meet. As the 13th of July is the first anniversary of the first meet I was thinking some time around that date would be good for the mini meet. We’ll have to wait for Donna to come back from Sydney this weekend to ask her. Anna…..Kill Jill…yooo hooo…can you hear me? What do you two think? I know Anna will be in Tamborine for a few days near that time so we’ll have to get our heads together. I’d better feed the animals and think of something for me for dinner. We dress normally - no fancy clothes, just slacks, blazers, cardigans, skirts - no excessive bling. .. We all met at central railway station last time, and then took the light train to the casino. We might have had about 2 drinks each - mostly gutzing ourselves with food. Afterwards we wandered out, a couple of us became members - I think it was only about $5, they gave us some chips to play the poker machines, so we had to get rid of that. Left about 4. I asked the guy was there somewhere we could all sit afterwards, and he said there are plenty of bars around. .. None of us drank much, but that is entirely up to you. .. We were there on a week day, and some of us had a way to travel. Same with the Brighton le Sands do, long way to travel for some, and we just dressed in everyday clothes. Ate, talked and had about 2-3 drinks. You will see that the lunch costs $19.90 for members and $26.90 for non members (might be cheaper to sign up before we go in!!!!!) Thats enough for now Jood

Ohhhh Wilson and Yvette, thanks for reminding me why I joined!!! pmsl. Just went and checked tree matches and BINGO. Someone has added 5 new names with one of my surnames :) Now I hope they answer cause I have all the info that they will need - including the 15 different spelling variations!!!! hee hee I only keep a very limited tree on here as it causes me too much confusion otherwise. Yvette, I am quite happy to share what i have on genes ( have only got limited information on here), but when you have a hot match or some other contact who you get a few emails from and have confirmed that you have a definate conection, and you both agree to share with each other what you have and you part with the info and never hear from them again, it makes me a bit cross. I have been working on my tree for years and have spent a fair bit proving information and getting certificates. Maybe i am just a bit disillusioned, and disheartened at the moment. But am not ready to give up on people yet, i have had some fantastic people contact me through genes and we have been able to help each other heaps. Sorry to sound like a mean spirited old hag hehe. btw i love to eat and drink, don't care what order i do it in lol, just have'nt been able to get to the last couple of meets. Can't wait to meet a few more wattlers. Take care Wilson

silly thing won't let me enter the entire link. i even put it in bits, if you go to this site. pick oceana/australia then on the left enter springwood, nsw, australia where it says zurich switzerland for eg. should come up. as with the family history. i'm quite liberal with letting people access my tree on gr. i don't have heaps only 250 ish, its fine. too hard to find everything you are looking for. what does annoy me is when you write to someone you know can help you out and they totally ignore you. major gripe - theres one who has claimed quite falsely part of the tree. alerted her to it and haven't heard boo since.

Hi Wattlers, I am too tired to read back too far, so thought i would just say hello. Sounds like you are on your way Lara, hope the van is all you wanted it to be. have fun, i will give you a call when we get underway, you never know, we might be in the same place at the same time eventually!! Don't want rub it in everyone, I only have 8 shifts to work before my long service starts, roll on roll on. I can't wait, 12 whole weeks to my self. Looking forward to being able to put in some serious time on the tree. Speaking of FH, does anyone else get sick of sending information to people who don't come good with promised return information. I keep telling myself that next time i will wait until i get their stuff before i send off mine, but always get too impatient. It has happened to me once again, this time on a line of tree that i have put a lot of work into, and it sounded like they had some stuff i didn't grrrrr. Hope everyone is well and doggies too, it is amazing that drugs and chemicals that have been banned in the US often are still used here for several years. Call me cynical, but i think it just might have something to do with money lol. Ok i am off to do a bit of tree, OH is away for the night so i have some guilt free computer time yea!!!!!
