yo lyn, i have to try really hard not to scrounge junk, but you know what they say about another persons trash.... i made a promise to myself not to go to the recycling place at the dump too. some people throw out the most amazing stuff. best place to put your discards is on the footpath so it really does get recycled. our society sucks. impulse buy then discard. no way jose. as for the tea, any hot drink is worth a whirl. have you tried ginger coffee? i think its either thai or indonesian and the chinese are very good with varying cold milk and fruit teas, especially with black tapioca balls in it. theres a taiwanese shop in china town that has the best drinks!

Yvette - the recipe for the Lemon, Almond & Polenta cakes you made sounds great, I have that June issue, so will make them now that you've done a test drive on them. I love that Delicious Maggo. Nice to know others pick things up on their walks...... On that subject we have put heaps out for a council clean up (I always pray the council will actually call on the Monday and that the junk doesn't sit there all week for a Friday pickup. Wondering how much will still be there by the time council calls as it is amazing how many people pull up and sift through your junk isn't it? Mind you saying that I picked up some amazing commerical, restaurant quality stainless steel baking dishes of all sizes just around the corner from our old house. However was very discreet about it, got hubby to pull up in his ute as I slid down under the dashboard, just in case anyone saw me. Can't spoil my image can I? Lara - Chai tea, if made properly it really is nice. I went into the Tea Centre in Sydney yesterday and had a pot and it was so refreshing. I always drink Chai both at home and work. The Indians make brilliant Chai tea. But then again can't abide that Earl Grey stuff, tastes like I'm drinking a pot of perfume! Trifley - I would be interested in joining the Lotto if possible. Does it require a Wattler Executive Committee meeting to check on our suitability????? Have a good night all Lyn

well i should be saying happy birthdays it seems.birthdays are great if you get to spend them with the nicest people. i've realised that the nicest people must all join in with you wattlers. can't get in the swing of combining messages in one post but i will try. i love food, golly i love food, i can smell the vinegar on those chips. found a way to get rid of the turps smell - chuck out the rubber gloves i used. upstairs for thinking. instead of scones i made litlle lemon polenta cakes out of the delicious magazine. is 12 enough for a taste each? i found the magazine on the road the other day when i was walking so picked it up. i'm going to be game and put up a new thread for yummies that take less than an hour. hopefully will get some good multicultural treats to experiment on. will post the recipe for the lemon cakes - they're a bit wicked but filling love yvette

Hi everyone, Happy Birthday to Heather and Janet. Well Iv'e had my say, we were just standing chatting about old times, nobody else could hear us so I mentioned the incident and he bl--dy well couldn't remember it! he said during those years he wasn't totally sober that often, the years of the long lunches all put on the expense account, but he appologised so I left it at that. I know he's not a happy man and he suffers from mild depression occaisionaly (sp) I will pass on his appology to L tomorrow. For the first time this year I haven't had my dogs injected against heartworm, I'm so glad now after reading the warning. July 13 sounds okay to me for the mini meet luv Jill (not going to Kill) Jill xx

Good afternoon Wattlers Happy birthday to you Hapy birthday to you Happy birthday Heather and Flutters Happy birthday to you. Hip, hip hooray!! Many happy returns! I notice that wretched cat came back - perhaps we could set a cat trap ........ Heaven only knows what we would do with the wretched creature if we caught it - I'll have to look up my manual on '101 things to do with a cat.' I wonder how the little meet in Canberra is going - no doubt chins are wagging and jaws are in overdrive! Hope you had lots of fun girls! Rebs - thanks for dropping in and letting us know you are OK - we do worry about you, you know. Are you going to catch up with Lara? Heather - hope your DD has a fantastic time in N.Z. How special to be able to go to the Merchant of Venice with her. 'How sweet the moonlight sleeps upon this bank. Sit, Jessica.' and 'My daughter, my daughter, my daughter and my duckets!' Amazing how the lines come back from high school days! Hope you enjoy your little trip to Melbourne and belt the fantastic plastic around a bit! Only fitting for a 21 year old! Looking a bit like rain so had best rescue the washing off the line. Talk to you all later Anna

Afternoon Wattlers, Vonny, Mary and I had a lovely lunch - joined by Mary's lovely granddaughter who didn't think we were all nuts - maybe she was just polite tho - pppppp Lots of talking and laughing and that was before we looked at the menu so you can imagine the rest of the meet. Was only a short time together because Vonny had another meeting but I think we packed heaps into that hour and 40 minutes that mere mortals would have struggled with plus we ate as well. Pickles will follow when Mary gets home so you'll have to be patient until then. Happy birthday to Butterfly too - hope you're having a good day too. Mary should be home by now - she was walking home in the glorious sunshine we've turned on - BTW Mary that was my OH that tooted. Not used to being home this early on a Sunday so don't have a clue how to amuse myself - NOT will pop in and out for the rest of the arvo I guess Gwenda

Good afternoon one ‘n all. Haaaaaapppppeeeee birthday to you Happy birthday to you Happy birthday dear Hz and Flutteeeerrrrs Happy birthday to yoooooooouuuu Have a wonderful day. Hi Rebs…that was a quick visit ~~waves hi and ‘bye lol. Are you able to get to the GC for the mini meet? The tentative date is Thursday 13th July. We’re waiting to hear from Donna & Kill Jill. Hi Devily….I used to be able to tell the difference in the emergency sirens but then they changed for those silly hee haw ones. One of our neighbours has 2 malamutes and when they hear a siren (often before we humans do) they howl. They sound better than the sirens…lol Vonny…~~~~~waves towards Canberra. Is John on the improve? Lew Lew….don’t forget to water the tree fern from the top until it becomes established then you can water it from the top…pmsl :-) Only 5 sleeps…is that right? Cat person….pinching another number…you wanna be careful, I’ve heard aunty Lew is a crack shot with a 303. Hows the assignments going? Joodles…aahhh the Blue Mountains….a wonderful place to live. Where we were, in Winmalee, we had trees and all sorts of birds. Even had an Albert’s Lyrebird in the back yard one time. It’s probably all built out now, which means most of the animals will be out too. Pam…while I was taking Mark into the GC last night we saw all the lightning up your way. Quite a spectacular show. You have my vote for joining the WattleLotto. It costs $20 each time you buy a ticket….which is only about once every 17/18 weeks. If we see who else wants to join then we can send all the info off at the same time. Yvette….very civic minded of you girl, bloody graffitists. How would they like it if someone ‘tagged’ their home? Now get that smell washed off you and start making those scones! It’s almost afternoon tea time and I’m hungry…lol. Lyn…Perfectly Plum….almost describes me..heee heee :-))) I draw attention to myself by wearing a tiara. I think your nails are a more practical way…pmsl. I’m tootling off to a Harvey Norman sale at Carara stadium this afternoon. You never know what bargains they might have on offer. The clouds have come over again so I’d better rug up. It looks as if it’s going to be a cold, damp drive. I’ll let you know if I snag a bargain. A most regal ~~~~~~~~wave to you all. Love Trifley X Hi SuzyQ...fish & chips overlooking the beach...what a pleasent way to spend an afternoon....enjoy yourselves. The 13th is looking good for the mini meet. Graeme said if he has a late enough start that day he'll come to the casino and have lunch before he goes to work....I'll turn him into a Wattler yet..pmsl TX

Happy Bithday, Heather and Butterfly. Hope that you both have a beautiful day. 21st are always very special. Butterfly, we don't have many of your details. Please email me your email and i will send you a list. Yvette. The list that I sent you was adobe. Lew got hers okay. do you have that program? Well, this will be short and sweet as we are going out. No where special, just on to the coast, probably Paradise Point, walk the dog and then get some fish and chips. Just hope that it isn't too cold. Taking about frost, when we lived in Springbrook mountain, we didn't get frost, but now that we live in a valley we do. I think you also get more frost if there is water nearby. Nice to chat yesterday Trifley. Rebs, glad to hear from you? hope that you are feeling much better now, you are missed. No one to chase for the noughty numbers. Lew what are you reading. How many more sleeps? Mary, did you sell yet, hope you all had a nice mini meet. 13th July is good for me, can kill Jill make it. Hope you are having a good week end Laurie. Safe journey home. Well, I really must go, hi to every one that I have mentioned. Luv SuzyQ

Hi everyone & Happy Birthday Heather Brilliant day here in Ingleburn, have been out for a 2 hr walk with OH and now want to get out in the garden as the weather is just so lovely. Plus hoping my young horticulturist neighbour might again pop his head over the fence and offer more freebie plants!!! Jood I was surprised that you don't get frosts there in Springwood, this year we have had several days of frost, reminded me why I left UK in the first place, as if the temp is not over 25c then I complain I am cold! Trifley, you asked after the colour of the nail polish I had on in the photo - Revlon Perfectly Plum. Bright (out there) polishes are my trade mark, you now what us 'short' people are like, have to do something to draw attention to ourselves...... Will be back later to catch upon all the waffling. Have a good day all. Lyn

good afternoon to everybody, had a lovely morning until youngest male child alerted me to 'tag' on side of the house. cleaned it off, then went up the street, cleaned off theirs and then more across the road. om questioned my enthusiasm. its called 'community spirit' + 1 tag always encourages more. smell like turps now - won't be able to make scones until i get rid of the smell. i think thats what hes complaining about.
