Oh Dr Lew - the shopper's friend and advisor - Thankyou for your comments re camera. Your advice has always been sound in the past so I will look for a camera with a view finder. I know a lot of the models with big screens don't have a view finder due to space constraints. He he he - you are really on your final countdown now - any big retirement parties planned? XX Anna |

Morning All, well this is my last Monday, hip hip hooray! Don't feel like doing much I must say. Anna, if you get a new camera, remember to still get one with a view finder, 'cause sometimes when the sun is out it's impossible to see the screen. Yes, poor Tony. There's nothing worse than losing your luggage when you're far from home. What Anna has suggested is always the best way to travel. Off to actually do some work. I know, you're all now PYSL. Morning all Poor Tony - glad it all worked out for him. I've always dreaded losing my luggage and for that reason I carry a change of undies, toiletries, medication and personal and travel documents in my hand luggage. I'll be interested to hear how he gets on with his travel claim! Sounds as if he is having a wonderful time. Heather - be brave. I know how you feel and I always imagine all the things that could go wrong! If you recall, last time Katherine went away she forgot her sleeping gear! Katherine will be old enough to get her learner's license next year so I'm telling myself I have to allow her more independence and the chance to learn from her mistakes as once she is independently mobile, I'll have a lot less say in where she goes and what she does! All we can hope is that we've taught them well and that they are wise enough to make sensible decisions. Methinks the BIG number may come up when the pussycat is having a cat nap! I wouldn't put it past the Rebs to be loitering either! Hubby wants me to go look at a new digital camera with him - one with a BIG picture on the back so we can see it!! Trifly - how is that new lap top going? My goodness - you are flash aren't you! Praise be to the fantastic plastic! Have a good day everyone Luv Anna |

Morning all :) ~~~~~~~ to Hz and a (((hug))). She will be home in no time :) The first time is always difficult but it gets easier. I remember once I sent my youngest off to camp ( she was 14 I think), with her older brother and sister one holiday. My sister came visiting and asked where they were. I just looked at her blankly - I had no idea!!!!!!! But I got a lettter the next day - they were only at a camp 30 mins down the highway. Obviously not far away enough for me to worry about LOL. But my sister wasn't impressed.! Shazz, my work is voluntary work teaching ESL to Korean missionaries with an organisation called Youth With A Mission. Once a year, my department has a conference, usually in an Asian country, and I haven't been for a while. However, this year it is in Chiang Mai and my 'boss' is thinking of starting English classes there so I thought I'd better go and see what it was like and join the conference this time. But I'm a real 'feet on the ground' homebody, so this is a great adventure for me, especially as we couldn't afford for both John and myself to go. I am travelling with another Korean couple whom I have been teaching English to, so lets hope I've done a good job!! Daughter has an extra meeting scheduled today so I get to mind G-D twice this week *big smile* Catch up with you this arvo :) ~~~~~~~ to Tony and Barb Vonny |

Good Morning all, I’m a bit teary and tense today, DD14 reminded me at 5.30 am that this would be the longest she’d ever been away from home, and I’m so nervous about her losing her money and not having enough warm clothes etc etc….they grow up and fly away so quickly don’t they! Anyway, she’s on the bus, and off down the Hume highway. Dreary weather notwithstanding, but yesterday was a super birthday for me, especially with all the GR messages, I’m still reading to catch up but will not miss a single one. I got a few little gifties but nothing special. Funniest thing was parcel from s-i-l in NZ, which had been opened by customs in Sydney, apparently “sniffed”. Card inside from Customs said it had been inspected but nothing illegal found, another form inside said that for $42.50 I could have my pot-pourri gift fumigated and sent on. I think dear s-i-l will understand if I fail to reply and send the pot-pourri to the incinerator (I doubt if it was $42.50 worth!!) LOL . Got me thinking about the ginger chai etc, better not send any via parcel post, those puppy dogs at customs will get very mellow! Great to hear from Tony, I can see him now greeting the Scottish sunrise, kilt all afling, atop a mountain rising out of the mist above a loch……. OK back to reality, one teenagers bedroom to fumigate this week, may find money, clothing, missing school scarf, books, homework, hair ties, sock elastics……etc. Ooooh I miss her already…. Have a great day everyone, and thanks again for the birthday wishes, they made me feel fantastic, Hz in Albury |

Shazz Drs appt at bottom of mtn 8.45, then back up the mtn, past my place, pick up g/f, further up to Katoomba where we are all visiting the SES depot for a talk and look around. Guess I fit lunch in somewhere, then at 3pm have to dash down the side of the mtn for another appt, it could be 4-4.30 before I make the homeward run. And dark to boot. This particular part of the mtn has about 9-10 hairpin bends - oh well, I've done it before. Guess I will be tired tonight. .. I didnt plan things to be so busy, it just happened. |

Yeah ya did beat me Shazz. I woke up at 5.30 and rolled over, all of a sudden it was 6.30 - I was up and out like a shot. .. This particular day I have to be out on the road by about 8.30!!! No time to watch urbkids wedding! Lovely to hear from Jock (aka Tony) - I see he was asking for money - but at the end of the message it said 'stop sending money', so he must have changed his mind. tee heee. .. What a bummer having your case lost and no itinerary. .. Boy I'd have panicked if it had been me, and all on my own. .. So we have our very own monument now - renamed Wattle Monument. .. Glad it was Jock who climbed in the 240 steps and not me, doubt I'd even have caught up to Barb. Well, off to have a shower and then brekky. Have a good day all. Jood |
