Morning all - have had lots of problems trying to get on this puta today. Didn't want to cooperate. Yea sure Cat. Didn't fool us for a moment. lol No Wilson, no frosts here. Beautiful sunshine and warm days. Sorry to hear about your and Joods daughters. Found out I had type 2 diabetes about 18 months ago. Was just about to go to USA to see my daughter when I found out and my Dr wasn't going to let me go. Finaly did get there after a bit of panicing and pleading. Vonny, you still packing ??? Shaz, you just crack me up with your jokes. Yea Laurie, I have one like that as well. My gt grandad was supposed to have been born in Tenterfield NSW in 1867. Have a marriage cert and death cert but can't find a birth any where in Aus. Can't find his parents deaths either. Just one of my brick walls. Lew, stop grinning. See you tomorrow Lara The little duck |

dash it all, I'm meant to be concentrating on packing and just received some more fascinating info from my cousin. Going to see if I can look at departing ship's passenger lists from about 1860 onwards. if anyone is bored ppppppp I'm looking for: Charlotte married to John Bell Metcalfe in 1842 in Sydney children: Michael 1842; John B 1844; Charlotte B 1846; William C 1848; Anne A 1850; Mary B 1851; Fanny E 1853 and Eveline B 1856. have no idea when they went back but couldn't find them on any census. WHY do rellies play hide and seek????? Vonny |

Morning all Just running through quickly. Lew - only 3 sleeps - hope you CAN sleep for the remaining nights! Bring it on! Jood - I had gestational diabetes with Katherine. Unfortunately it didn't revert to normal after the birth so I have lived with Type 2 diabetes for the last 16 years. I keep it under control through diet and exercise - have to test my blood sugar every day but don't have to take medication. I find the occasional lapse in diet doesn't matter and I find foods high in fat affect me more than the occasional splurge on sweet things. All in all, I haven't found it too hard to live with but there are varying degrees of the disease so what works for me may not work for her. Hope she copes OK. Wilson - what a bugger about your daughter and her glandular fever. It takes a while to get over I know. Re the soccer - we was robbed!! Seems the major drama at the World Cup this year is the quality of the refereeing. Am busy baking for dinner guests tonight so best get back to slaving over a hot stove. Of course, I'd rather be stoving over a hot slave Trifley but we can't all be lucky! Have a good meet up you guys in Brissy - we are all getting to be very social Wattleflies aren't we! By for now Luv Anna |

Good Morning All. Well it's 3 sleeps to go and it'll be all over. Jood, I too had a bad night. Couldn't sleep for about 2 hours. Didn't watch the soccer, but did read my book. The Camel Club by David Baldacci. Very interesting. Sorry for all those who are not well. (((Hugs))) to you all. Wilson, lots of my plants have been hit hard by frost. Only got down to -3.6 last night, but predictions for tomorrow morning are minus 6 - yuk! Princess DI(Y), here is a special multicoloured pill that will fix all ailments known to man. I suggest you wish it down with a Yarra Valley chardy. Hope you all have a great day, I know I will. Lew Lew xxx |

Good morning all . . . a lovely sunny day on the bay, and I am sitting in the sun soaking up as much as I can. We have 4 giraffes with their heads up, and another ship is just being escorted over to the docks so I guess some of those lazy giraffes will soon be back at work. Those mighty monsters of the skies are coming and going and it wont be long until Vonny is on one of them. I have so much FH info and pics coming in - I think I am going to be sitting here on the puter for a week, (I need a secretary) Just made up a list of the jobs I have to do this week, and only those with a high priority have a chance, I am determined to get all this info sorted. Cousin Pat has school hols coming up, and I am determined to meet up with her and want to have everything in order to give her copies. She went out and purchased FTM last weekend so she can import from me instead of retyping everything up - she had been working along without a tree program until now. I have a strange one . . (well one of many) My gtgran died in 1919, I have been to her grave on the family property (near Lake Cargelligo NSW), I have the lovely memorial card gtgramps issued on her death, but her death is not recorded in NSW bdm's. Hi Mary, glad you have had this time with the grandies - good to get to know them without the parents hanging around. Special time for you all! Ah well back to give the scanner a workout catch you all later . . . Lew, watch that smile girl - your face will crack in half !!!! luv Laurie |

Morning Again Jood I missed your message earlier where you mentioned about your daughter, hugs for her hope she copes ok with it. I have sent you a pm. I had an email from Jetstar, for the sale that was going to start when Aus got out of the world cup, and I'm glad I didnt wait for the sale as it was only on selected flights as in Launceston to Melbourne, but nothing to Sydney, closest was Newcastle, and it was only for travel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday which would have been no good. anyway only 46 more sleeps :-))))) Cheers Sue |

Hi there Wattlers, reporting in for the day Lew, have told Faye you are retiring this week and to get in touch with you, am going to email her today to remind her and nag her until she adds on here tonight in fact I will gr you with her addy, she wont mind Vonny, just as well poor John didnt stay and watch the soccer, good game though, B****Y ref, never mind we'll eventually get there, and hows that packing coming along finished yet lol Heather, so you stayed up and watched too, I couldnt have watched it, I get too boisterous and my nerves would have been shot, so I just listen on radio, was bad enough when my daughter used to play in reps netball, thank god she gave it up Mary you clever little duck you, driving around Canberra, sorry, couldnt do it myself, would end up in the looney bin, I keep going round in circles LOL Jood sorry to hear about daughter, seems to be getting a little more prevalent these days Wilson sorry about daughter also, not nice when your kids are sick even though they are grown, still tend to look on their mums for support dont they Hi Joy have a nice day with our lost baggage wattlers, great couple Marys joke for the day coming up A wealthy man was having an affair with an Italian woman for several years. > One night, during one of their rendezvous, she confided in him that she was pregnant. Not wanting to ruin his reputation or his marriage, he paid a large sum of money if she would go to Italy to secretly have the child. > If she stayed in Italy to raise the child, he would also provide child support until the child turned 18. > She agreed, but asked how he would know when the baby was born. To keep it discrete, he told her to simply mail him a post card, and write 'Spaghetti' on the back. He would then arrange for child support payments to begin. > > One day, about 9 months later, he came home to his confused wife. Honey, she said, 'You received a very strange post card today'. > 'Oh, just give it to me and I'll explain it,' he said. The wife agreed, and watched as her husband read the card, turned white and fainted. > > On the card was written: 'Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti. Two with meatballs, one without.' ~~~~~~Shaz xxxxx |

Morning all..Beautiful day in the capital today.. only went down to -2 last night I think.. not to bad.. Had a good nights sleep last night as Ben(dog) didnt ask once to go outside so that was a bonus for me.. he is missing his master who will be home this afternoon. Daughter and SIL sounded like they had a good time as this is the first time they have been away without the kids since their marriage.Eldest G/daughter is an insulin dependant diabetic and they could never leave her on her own for long. Now she is 17 and does everything for herself so mum and dad feel they can now have a few days off. Well must go and drive eldest G/daughter to work so back later.. Love Maryxxx |

Morning all, Hubby almost stayed up for the soccer but decided not to. Aust must have played very well :) Laurie, my daughter also had gestational diabetes last time and is hoping all will be clear this time. She was told it must be in the family but I have no knowledge of it, not parents or grandparents anyway and I don't think great-grands either. Is it in your family history?? Hz, have sent you an email, thanks for yours :) Ok. My directions must have been very unclear. Just hover your cursor over someone's name and look at the very bottom of the screen. At the end of the black writing is their number. You don't have to click!!! (but you can if you want! :) Today is the day I start to pack. So if you see me on the computer just ask me how much I have done!!! have decided to take over the kid's spare bedroom and lay out everything on their bed :) ~~~~~~~~~Vonny Hi Wilson :) Julie, how did your presentation go?? Were they interested? Did they ask questions?? |

Morning All, Jood, your poor daughter, what a blow, (((hugs))) to her. My youngest daughter has just got blood tests back confirming that she has glandular fever, coming home to mum today to be cared for. Not sure how long she will have to take off work, she is a midwife, so can't afford to take risks. Has everywhere been having these terrible frosts, i have plants on the veranda that have been frost bitten even though they are not even near where frost should be able to get them, and plants inside the fernery have suffered as well. Brrrrrr Ok i am off to stock up the cupboards, for the next round of working week. Have a good day. Take Care Wilson |

Hi Joy Say hello to Tony & Barb from all the Wattlers here. Bad news this morning, youngest daughter emailed me to say 'Its Official - diabetes' ..... She had gestational diabetes while she was carrying Lucas, and has just had another test and it has been confirmed. ..... Such a shame. .... Other daughter also had gestational diabetes, even went on to have a second, but was cleared afterwards. .... I feel sooo sorry for her. ... I hope she can cope ok - she is vegetarian to boot. Had a rotten nights sleep last night (must have been because the Socceroo's lost - it was around that time). 1 hour later, I was still laying there. .. Turned the light on and tried to read for a while .. No luck - eventually I did drop off, and of course, slept in. .. Don't you always feel like s**t when that happens? .. Even half an hour later I feel lousy, but nothing a hot shower wont fix. Jood |
