Yes, its on Mum's side. Definitely related. I have much more than her on the ascendant side though. I have to convince her we are related. Given that two family members were mentioned in my ggf's will - she should be convinced eventually (an Essex girl, only 34). I noticed a Hull in there (Tony) - but nothing to do with my part of the family. Going to try and print, though I cant see anything to assist me. Jood Jood

Good morning Complaints Department. Got 3 hot matches. 1) I'm positive we are related, girl is not so sure, has gone off to check censuses, and hasnt sent me her email address for me to send tree .. grrrrrr 2) This guy has msgd me 3 times and says 'I answered you and I can't understand why you dont have it' - but failed to tell me what was in the missing msg .. grrrrrrr 3) No response .. grrrrr On a lighter note, a friend sent me this site, very similar to Ancestry, and is supposed to be better (NOT FREE however) Another pay to view besides Anc.com British Origins Choose plan British Origins is the richest source of British genealogy online, featuring marriage, census, wills, and many more authentic record collections, most not available anywhere else in digital form. Plus a Library of rare and unique material, including a comprehensive England and Wales Gazetteer. Records include exclusive access to Society of Genealogists' records. http://www*origins*net/ No. 1 hot match has just msgd again (she manages one msg a day) - and has said I can see her tree. Hmmm - off I go - dont have a clue where to look! Believe it or not, I am still a happy little vegemite, and am off to have a nice hot shower - back later. Jood

Good morning all . . . I woke at 6.30 to find the lovely Ray, donning tie, ready to step out the door, (I checked - the beds not wet, teehee) said he had a good night sleep and was up so thought he would just get going. He even packed his own lunch !! So I have a lazy start to the day. Thinking of you today Yvette, you will just be on the drinking water about now, just pretend its something you like! Oh Great Trifley one, you sure you dont want to do my ironing for me ?? I hate it so much I would love to pay someone to do it for me, but couldn't live with the guilt - never did a single bit of ironing while I was working, but can't find a justifiable excuse - other thatn I hate it! I just thought, I could always say I was helping out the National unemployment figures - doing it for my country !! (will give that angle a lot of thought) Mary, your packing and going through everything isn't a chore love, its an adventure. As your going through everything, you are going to relive lots of memories, so enjoy! As suggested before, do one room at a time - completely, so you dont have to go back to it. 4 piles, packed to go with you, giveaways, garage sale and garbage bin! Keep a note book with you to jot down things so you can jog your memory later, your going to be overloading it! Most of all keep a supply of treats to make your breaks for a cuppa enjoyable. Have you taken lots of pickles of your home before you dismantle it ??? Remember, what the reward at the end is !!! A lovely new home, a new adventure! The sun is just starting to come out - so off to sit and soak for a while with a cuppa and toasted muffin Have a great day all - cheers luv Laurie

Jood yes it is hard sometimes we are talking and she has to go because Norman is calling out to her. I do argee although he is not well it must be very hard for her to put up with. When we was talking the other night she mentioned about the pic of her new grandchild from Broken Hill, so I am assuming her son is still there, didnt get to find out as Norman called for her and she had to go. She seems a lovely kind person. Cheers Sue

Sue, I have seen Sylvia on the Canada thread, and I feel soooo sorry for her with her hubby Norman - whilst I know he is very sick, he is extremely inconsiderate, and its sooo hard on her. .. She really deserves a medal You are right, it is her son, and daughter in law. .. Jood

Jood. I only know Sylvia through messenger, and this site I think we got to chat to each other through another Aussie thread that used to be on this site. She had a pic of her new grandchild from Broken Hill, I had a feeling it was a child of her Son, but I might be wrong it could have been her daughter. Norman is still Norman if you know what I mean. Cheers Sue

Good evening Wafflers We didn't go far this weekend, but have had a busy one, too many other things to do when Ray is home on a weekend for me to go online! We went shopping on Saturday, and ended up with a new machine to blast my music on! Neighbours will know all about it tomorrow! What we really went looking for was a wireless keyboard and mouse for Ray's puter (Apple) - but, heck - I'll take the new music box instead! The lovely Ray helped me sort the old photos today, we have scanned and made albums for lots of different family members. Its been fun sorting them and even managed to get some really nice photos off my sisters wedding proofs of parents and gramps. Odd thing in our family, 3 of us had our photographers burnt out between getting proofs and getting our photos we had ordered. (Now we come with a warning to photographers to avoid us). We got 6 photos from our photographer before everything went up in flames! Ah well the marriage has done a bit better (wonder if that is because of or in spite of ?????) Tee hee Today was memorable by the Bay . . . I saw Vonny fly off, while on the balcony looking for her, I noticed 3 men on the beach, One was drawing something in the sand the other two were directing him from up on the bank. He drew a giant heart in the sand, in the middle he wrote Mark loves Stella! They put a cloth on the picnic table near by, then two left and the other guy sat there for a couple of hours, with a bucket of flowers - around 11.30am, Ray called out to come see what he was doing, he placed flowers around the outline of the heart and placed a big bunch of flowers on the table with some preparations for lunch. Then he lay on the slope of the bank with a camera and took footage of what happened next. The man who had written in the sand arrived with his lady , obviously it was Mark & Stella, and he got down on his knees . . I think she said Yes! The other guy left and the couple had champers and a picnic, later two car loads of I presume family arrived to see for themselves . . . much merriment !!! All the while this was happening there was amazing activity in the water - dolphins jumping everywhere - so many babies, tiny wee things throwing their entire bodies out of the water. I think the Mums and Dads were haveing a devil of a time trying to keep an eye on them! On dark the little darlings were still out there having fun! (Stella & Mark left just after lunch - I think they had plans to make!) I think I recall that Tony said they get back on Tuesday morning - but I could be wrong, glad you have been able to chat to them Joy, sadly sounds like you didn't get to meet up. Well I have an in tray that is over flowing so I will catch you all later cheers luv Laurie

Been everywhere Pam, all over Queensland, lovely place (the FNQ especially), Simpson Desert, Stony Desert, Canning Stock Routes, and the other general places, and you just cant beat a campfire out in the open with a drink in your hand and good company. I had some sherry earlier thanks Pam, probably off to bed shortly to read. Jood
