Hiya Joy...:>)) Me.... Essex. Naaaaah....well maybe pehaps Aussex...lol, but do have about 8 generations of blood line running through me veins. I often think It would have been interesting to have heard my grandad talk ( being born there ) though. Shame i never got to meet him. Visited the pub where he was born in 1875, last year in Earls Colne, and Barb took a piccie of me standing outside the pub. Dont tell no one......but i did 'Aquire' an empty beer bottle that was stacked at the back of the pub, and it sits on my bar at home.A 6th cousin ( living in Romford ) and i also 'Aquried' some apples that just happened to be growing on a tree next to the pub. So we took them to her house and she made me an Apple pie out of E'm.....Yum.( Bonus ) Jill. I found getting around London was easy, once i worked out the train system. We stayed two min walk from Russell Square, so were very close to London City. Must admit though, one night we took a wrong Bus trying to get back to Bloomsbury and ended up on our way to Bethnal Green....lol... before i realised. But that makes a holiday more fun, and something to remember. Tony Oz...:>)))

Ah, Tony I remember as a child being taken up to London to see the lights at Christmas, this is going back about fifty years, and it was shoulder to shoulder then. It's funny how you take the crowdieness (is that a word)? for granted, but after living in Brissie for almost thirty years before I made my first visit back it was a bit of a shock, all those people all in a rush, my oh and I tried once to walk against the homeward crowd on Tower Bridge we gave up till the tide had passed. Enjoyed your photos and I may tell the story one day of our B&B from hell in Wales, no thats a bit harsh, it was so awful it was funny. luv Jillx

And a very good travel agent, too, Tony! am enjoying reading it. Scottish accent indeed!! Very Essex, I thought (she says tongue in cheek!!) Sending hugs to Trifley, and hello to all. I asked about Rebs, too, the other day - do hope she is okay? Haven't seen her for a while. Joy

hi all , have rushed through reading everything i've missed. I consciously tried to avoid the computer a bit today. i will have to wean myself off of family history for a bit. just checked out my timetable for next session and they've changed it. bum. i was sooooooo organised. i am still going to go to the casino in sydney on 12th though. it will be great to meet others who don't roll their eyes back in their head when f/h is mentioned if anybody is missing addreses for piccies, i cut and paste them onto a word doc. because it was getting hard going back looking. yell if you want them. i think there might be too many but you will recognise the ones you are after. Will there be anybody pole dancing in Sydney? Lyn , where is dil doing dip ed? my son's at uow finishing. hope he gets a job somewhere exotic (ish). I did tell some that we are the proud owners of 2 old volvo's. i'm not into car racing because most of the time it seems that cars are racing past me. Been trying to get OH to upgrade to a newer version A) so I can drive it B) because i'm stuck with mine for a couple more years at least. Youngest male child is cooking me a cake. had last night's left overs for tea and have 1 more week of no work. Am still getting about with bandage over head. the doctor said to leave it on 'til stitches come out. Can't wash my hair and it hurts to brush it. Lucky you didn't end up with a big bandage on you (on your bottom) Laurie. Hope you are right with the weather forecast Mary, I need to go camping this week. oh reckons it's a sure way to get it to rain. I'll try and get the brain happening with the word game. It's cuppa time and I'm going looking for photos love yvette

Evening. Well, trimmed all the trees and bagged all the leaves for collection ta-morrow, and cleaned up around the outside of the hoose....I mean...House.... Sorry, cant seem to shake this Scot accent...lol Mind you, i did have trouble understanding a few peeps in Scotland with very broad Scottish vocals, but then a few didn't understand me neither!!! Had the same problem in parts of Ireland. Mary. Yes, Hotel from hell...hee hee I guess the standard, and what we get here in Oz for our $ is very different. Some of the B&B's in the U.K are very homely, friendly, and have a personal touch, and some of the guest houses also. But most of these places do not supply a bar fridge in your room, something which is standard in Oz. Many of the B&B's also do not accept credit cards, and will only take cash also i found. Trifley. When Barb was in Quebec a few years ago she found the french a bit the same, and also when she was in Noumea, she says.Perhaps, as someone said.....they never did forgive the poms for Joan of Arc.....lol Jill. We probably did pass your d. in Pall Mall, but as London streets are chocka's 24/7....it would have been hard to pick her out. I think London has the same population as Australia.....and walking down Oxford street if you dont walk into someone, or bump shoulders, then your not trying. 2am in the morning in London, is like peak hr rush in Melbourne. Barb made a comment, that at 2am in our city ( Melb ) you could fire a cannon ball up Swanston street and not hit a soul...LOL All in all,Singapore will always remain my favourite place to visit, as far as Citys and night life go.To me its one of the most cleanest and freindliest countries i have visited.( 8 times now ) The food is great( Asian or Western ) The Airline is tops. The Hotels are first class. The shopping is cheap as.Tropical atsmosphere, Value for money....plus the Ozzie dollar spreads a loooooong way....:>)) Tony Oz...:>)) ( sounding like a travel agent..lol )

Chester was wonderful lots of talking, laughing, drinking even some eating, I had spicy meatballs with pasta mmmmmmmmm :-). Some pole dancing by Honey Rum and welllllllllllllllllllll it was mre like pole climbing by Lemon pmsl. I have the pickles to prove it lolol. Unfortunately they're on my phone cos I forgot my camera and I can't get them onto the computer (I thought I had a connection to the puter and I don't aaaaarrrrgggghhhh) Jilly, Lemon and Daniel managed to get lost lololol They made it from Scotland (picking Dan up on the way) to Lemon's dad's no problem, then got lost trying to find the hotel they were sleeping in last night pmsl. I met a lot of wonderful people including Kaz in a Tizz and Honey Rum. Brilliant meet :-)))))))))))))))))))) Jill have you tried putting the addy in your address bar instead of the search engine, I found that worked for me in the past. A quiet day today I think. Have to pop to the shop to pick a few things up for Alex's packed lunch for his school trip tomorrow and catch up on the washing, the rest can wait. ~~~~~~~~~~~to all~~~~~~~~~~~ Juliexx

Good afternoon merry Wattlers It's a glorious, sunny day here on the GC. Graeme started work late today so we trotted off and got the weeks shopping out of the way. A good thing too as this week is shaping up to be busy. Hi Cat person..by the looks of your smiles you must be having a good time at the Chester meet. How is Lems? Is she behaving her self with Daniel?. Hi Crew...babies are great aren't they? It seems I'm more fond of them now than when I was younger...lol Any more rain to water those new olive trees? Lyn...lets hope your DIL gets the visa organised. You should take the oportunity to go to the Cook Isl for a holiday while she is there. Devily...Yaaayyy...FORD...that's the best car. Tony......did you see any of the Rose Line mentioned in 'The Da Vinci Code', while you were in Paris? I've never had anything to do with the French from France just the ones from Neumea and they were rude and arrogant. Maybe we just struck them on a bad day....lol. Anna...Donna suggested we meet at the 'Food Fantasy' in Jupiters ground floor by 11:30am. Evidently it is popular and we don't want to wait in a que. Big ~~~~~waves to all the other special folk I haven't mentioned. I'm off to get some coffee. love Trifley X

Afternoon Wattlers.. Lovely day here today but a little on the chilly side.. Supposed to be going up to 23 next week so that is more to my likeing.. Tony That Hotel you had sounds like the Hotel from Hell we had in London..Same dimensions and facilities,, but you did have a bathroom,, whereas we had to go down the hall..Did you get the impression that the Hotels in Europe are still back in the dark ages with their history , trying to catch up..I could not believe what they wanted to charge for a room and when you compared it to our standards you would cringe...Had a hotel in Italy where the bathroom was so small you could sit on the loo and take a shower at the same time,,would not be allowed here in OZ..Still we all put it down to an experience and then look forward to getting home...Loved your picks ... Jood Hope you are having a good time.. Did you try the old Dr, Jurgs Jungle Juice.. bet you did..It is so lovely up there and we have been ther a couple of times.. We stayed at the Bellbird Hotel I think.. Its got a ghost..Hope you took lots of warm clothes.. Anna Hope your daughter is having a great time..Weather is lovely here so she should enjoy herself.. Lyn What a shamozel for your DIL.. Tell her she should apply for permement residency..What a lot of money to fork out for the trip..Hope the cold is feeling better. Have a Brandy and dry ginger ale with a little warm honey in it.. May not cure the cold but you will feel much better after a few... Tassie Sue.. You can have your Fords... will never buy another.. every Ford we bought had a defect.. The worst was when we bought a new Telstar on the friday and took it for a drive on the sat, and the engine cooked..played up so much after that we sold it as fast as we could as they never could find out what the real cause of the problem was..The others used to conk out in the rain and we never went anywhere without our WD40 ..it has saved us many a time..... trying to dodge the daggers and sparks comming my way...OUCH.. You are doing a great job with the birthday thread... Laurie. Hope you are OK and not suffering any after effects of the accident..Hope they catch the bugger who did this to you..Throw the book at them,,and sue them for all they got...I never walk out on the street unless I have had eye contact and know that the driver has seen me..Nearly got run down by a bus when I just walked out when the green man came on..It was just that others in front of me saw the bus and waited and I had to,,saved my life they did...I bet they dont know how grateful I am to them.. Have a lovely time in Indo. and remember the shoes are cheaper there.. Lew If I go to Paris I will remember to ask you for a hotel as you seem to find nice ones..Or I should see Tony first and find out the ones to avoid...LOL Trifley Hope you are having a nice weekend..Said a wee prayer for you at Mass today..Hugs.. Rebs.. Hope you are OK.. Had your rest so its time to return to the fold...we miss you.. Lara Hope you are having a nice time oopp north and revelling in the heat..dont get to sunburnt..get that puta connected and pop in... Sue Are you neglecting my chooks...naughty girl.. Well I had better go and do some work,,John said I am getting to be a MOUSE POTATOE.. he can talk....huh.. See ya later Love Maryxx

Morning Wattlers. Typical winters day in Melb. Hard rubbish collection on Monday, so gotta trim all the tree branches and tidy up around the hoose. Tassie. Don't ge me wrong mate. Paris is a lovely place, and i only saw a smidgin of it in two days. Its just that like most places we all visit on our holidays, first impressions ( so to speak ) and was also a little disappointed at our accommodation, and a bit disgusted at the doggie doo that was all over the footpaths. At least our councils make peeps carry a plastic bag to pick up after us if we walk our pets. If i were to return to France i would rather pay the extra( how ever expensive ) an upgrade to 5 star hotel. I think the area where we stayed was a bad choice on my behalf, and i didn't do my homework properly. It was also a bit sad to see the make shift card board homes under many of the bridges that people lived in.( poverty )...but without sounding ignorant, i guess that happens world wide. As Ozzie kids we hear the word 'Paris' and think tinsell town, and many parts are, but not where we stayed. My fault. Where's Rebs? Haven't seen a posting for a while, and hope she is o'k. Hope everyone has a great day. Tony Oz......:>)) ps. Glad ya's liked me piccies.

Morning Wattlers Well it is a drizzly day today. I have been up for a few hours as visitors wanted an early start, they are heading to Hobart today, the up the West Coast and back to the ship to return to S.A. Trifley, yes definately before my time I was only born in the 60's I lived beside the RAAF base in Heffernan St. Anna my friend who was staying with her Dad in Toowomba is back home and was at the function we went to last night and she was so amazed about the water restrictions you have up there at the moment. Thanks for the input re Paris, dont think I will go there for my Honeymoon !!!!! Hang on I'm not getting married so dont have to worry about that lol. Jill wash your mouth out. There are a few who appreciate a great car as in FORDS. Can you see the daggers, dont worry about the sparks pmsl. Well might go and have a play with the Word Games as they sound like we need a few extra players at the moment. Catch you all after. 34 Sleeps Cheers Sue
