Morning Wattlers Well we have got the same type of weather as Melb and Mudgee at the moment, rain, rain and more rain, we need it though so Im not complaining. Tony yes they are a bit hard on diabetics, when it comes to the cinemas, but its their loss as they are turning people away with their policy's. My brother is here at the moment doing Davids tax return, it does come in handy to have accountants in the family :-). I just didnt inherit the brains in the genes, I thought they said trains and I hate them so I missed out pmsl. Well had better go and be socialble as we dont see each a great deal. 4 Weeks today!!!! 28 Sleeps Yippee!!!!!!! Cheers Sue

Good morning Waffling Wattlers, (make yourself at home Fitz) Did you all see that ???? . . . . I have saved Lews last message in case she deletes or changes it . . . . WE ARE ALL SANE !!!! The doctor has spoken!!! Its 7.45am, the sun is streaming through the smog and looks like a giant orange. I'm on the 15th floor, so to the North I can see out to the harbour, on a clear day I can see out to the 1,000 Islands, but certainly not today. There is still a lot of space between high rises out this part of town, so I am looking out over a campung (village - city style), not a poor district, so the buildings are reasonably good, the roof tops are covered in clothes lines, and there are lots of trees and greenery. Between me and the harbour is the Park at Ancol, which has a golf course, Sea World, Water theme park, Funtasia (Dreamworld style), three large hotels, massive parks, lagoon with paddle boats, great outdoor markets, an artistic campung (where sponsored artists of all sorts live and work and sell there wares) and three outdoor entertainment areas. Large rock festivals are held regularly in the park. There are several freeways built high above the lower buildings that cut through and skirt around the city. Glad you are getting rain where it is needed - the pot plants might survive another stint of abandonment. Take it steady Joodles, I know its 'your backyard' but them mountain roads are not good at best of times let alone in the rain. It is insane that here we are 2006, and the road over the mountains is still not dual carriageway all the way. Shopping AHhh - love the breakdown Tony, . . . The Indonesian Govt. have a policy, that factories who make product for International markets, have to provide a percentage of the same product to the local market at local market prices. The way we at our factory do this is to have a shop at our factory to sell direct to local public. Thats how we know how to buy the good stuff for the local prices. The market stands in the giant Pasar Bagi and ITC across the road from our hotel sell the copies, of which there is no control here - some of that is not bad quality, but a lot of it is rubbish - you have to be really check out everything well. I have my favourite floor over the road, where they sell all the braids and beads and buttons - its a sewers paradise! (the rags are pretty good too) If you can find the factory that has the International contract though - you are laughing. Our best factory finds are the one who makes for Versace, (but that is way up country in Central Java) the one who makes the Prada shoes (up in the mountains about 2hrs drive) (Tiger Woods stuff is made up there too) - locally we have Greg Norman, Arnold Palmer, Kipling bags, Levi jeans and selection of other Levi gear, Polo suicases, Polo clothes. Marks & Spencer branded womens clothes and mens trousers, Reebok shoes (and a few lines of clothes), Cabbage Patch, and the Factory Outlets stores that meet the Govt requirements for several other factories combined - including the large outlet for a majority of the handbag brands (though most of the best are made in Thaiwan). The stores at the factories are not advertised, so you need local knowledge to find them - luckily I have friends who are good at sussing it all out. I suggested they should market shopping holidays - I want a cut of course! Ate too much yesterday to be able to entertain the thought of breakfast, so off to make a cuppa and will catch up with you all later. cheers luv Laurie

My best bargain in Singapore( markets ) was 3 pairs of Jeans for $20 SGD. ( $16 AU ) but i cant claim to be a good shopper like Barb ( she would have bargained further...:>))) Gwenda. Have sent off Lotto again. Going to download our movies of our U.K trip onto DVD today, and play it through the puter. That way It allows me to capture 'Still Shots' ( on the Puter )as there were some beautiful scenery shots, and might pull out the oils soon, as i feel a painting coming on shortly of the Scotland Highlands. Wish everyone a great day, whatever your doing. Fitz. No need to apologise mate....lol Ozzies are the best Wafflers in the world. After all, most are convicts decendant mate, and probably waffled on to to the Judge that sentenced them here in the first place. Tony Oz..:>)))

Evening Wattlers - well it may be 1.28am ova in Orstyalya but its 10.28pm here. Weather in Jakarta is HOT! No make that FLAMIN' 'OT! When this place was occupied by the Dutch, they built waterways here like they had at home - the legacy is smelly open cess pools in this heat, that is the worst thing they have to offer here! Never go for a walk down any of the streets with the open waterways beside them - the smell would knock you out. What a big day I've had -Shopping, then Yum Char for lunch with friends, then they took me to a new shop they had found - at the shirt factory. Got Ray 9 shirts for 524,000rp (les than AUD$75) they are Cardin, Valino, VH - BARGAIN !!! Now that I have spoilt him, he wont have a leg to stand on when I start the major onslaught tomorrow. Took ages to get over to the factory - traffic was worst I have ever seen it here . . . and thats saying something. Had my little mate JoJo with me, he is friends little fella that has heart trubs and he is off to the States next week for surgery. When he saw me this morning he let out this great roar -'Aunty Lollie' and raced to give me a big hug - didn't let me go all morning. Tonight 8 of us went to a seafood restraunt over at Sunter, Chillie Crab, Soft Shell Crab, BBQ giant Prawns, Best Squid dish, Garame' fish, and lots of vegies (Green spinachy stuff, eggplant, Tufu) Chilli was soo out there the old nose is still itchy. All eaten with the fingers with rice . . . regular little piggies meal! Tony I got that new Pirates movie today, for 5,000rp (7,000rp = AUD$1) Got 7 movies today, and have heaps more on my list to look for. Other unreal bargain of the day King size really nice fitted sheets 35,000rp !!!! All the linen is sooo cheap. Friend Silvi got 4 pair of coordinating pillowcases for 26,000rp. Congrats to the Cat from me too - you is a clever little puddytat! Glad you all had a good time at Jupiters, and Anna, you picked a top spot for your little break away. Luv Tamborine! We used to go to St Bernards for Mystery nights, they were terrific, specially as the rooms are all creeky and the floors and ceilings are on weird slopes. But thats a whole different storey. The chain saw is working up a treat here tonight - me thinks the lovely ray is pooped! Certainly not alchol induced - none consumed! Our hotel has changed names since we were here last - it is now 'le Grandeur' - rooms have all been spruced up, but still the same lovely friendly staff. They make such a fuss of us it is easy to come back. Well I am going to say good night and hit the hay before the noise starts up again . . . catch you all tomorrow cheers luv Laurie

Well the movie wasn't tooooo bad. Lots of effects, but like most sequels...not as good as the first one i reckon. I gave it a 6 outa 10. The ending was a bit strange though, but i guess it leaves it open for a 3rd.Barb thought the movie was a bit overdone, and nodded off afew times. The movie lasted 150 min. Tassie. Thats a bit rough mate, especially if your MIL is diabetic. These picture theatres charge double with there food costs, ( a rip off ) and not surposed to take homemade goodies from here either mate, but Barb carries a big handbag ( say no more )...lol The cinema we go to is the Waverly Village complex, and has about 5 or 6 theatres. Well, time for a coffee and bikkie, then do a bit of Family history search. Tony Oz..:>))
