Jood, we have a Canon ink jet. Cartridges are very reasonable compared to some of the others, but when K is at uni we often go through a black catridge a week. Pain in the bum to have to continually get them refilled. We're looking at getting a lazer printer, but with birthday season coming up overlapped with Christmas it may have to wait until the new year. Unless K would like a new printer for her 18th??? Best bet is to go to a reliable dealer and have them show you what available. Go to a couple of places and see how they compare notes.

I dont usually print photos from the printer Trifley - all my pics are on my computers, but if I did want one photo printed, I'd just put the pic on my memory card and take it to one of the do it yourself places. I do have a scanner. .. I couldn't justify spending too much money on a scanner-fax-printer - tho it would be nice - I have no idea how much these are either. Every time I get those brochures in the mail, I toss them out - so a bit out of touch with prices. Jood

Rebs - what brands are the laser printers? Sometimes I go for ages without printing and then I want to do some family history stuff. Jood

Hi Joodles Mark has a Canon IP 6000. It's more of a pickles type of printer. He can put the memory card from the camera in and print the pickles without the computer. TX

Jood, I had an Epson before I got the Dell. (freebie thrown in with new computer) Epson was good and the ink cartridges are reasonable. Even more reasonable if you get refilled ones once the warranty has run out. :) Get a printer/ scanner as well, unless you have a scanner already?? Vonny. Jood, before you buy a printer consider how much you will use it. The cost of replacement ink cartridges vary between brands. Also, you'll get considerably more copies from a lazer printer cartridge than you will an ink jet, up to 5 times, depending on what you are printing.

Joodle. Throw that ribbon printer in the bin, mate. Go out and shout ya self a new printer. They are all reasonbly priced, and a brand new ink jet printer would cost you anywhere from $100 upwards. May I recommend Epson. They are the most wondeful printers and do a marvellous job with photos. I swear by them and so does my friend who is a photographer

Get a new printer, Joodles. They are quite reasonably priced for ones which have lots of bells & whistles. And you can print your pickles too. love TX

Gidday Wafflers I knew we'd hit the OO's today some time, but you lot were sooooooooooooo slow after yesterday's mammoth effort - it slipped my mind, and my finger!!! Damn printer is playing up - put a new tape or ribbon in or whatever you call it - and its still not printing well even after I did a print test and clean. Off to the tip with it I say. .. Will start collecting the junk mail I toss out every week and see what's offering. Always something to waylay one from doing the housework. Oh Trifley - I never did get to do the h******k - you can blame Lew - she kept me talking on MSN all afternoon, (but I enjoyed every minute of it, tee hee - I think I talked more than she did) I see you are joining our lickle word game Tony?
