Good one Suzy I really enjoy reading census forms and when I say I'm going to the library I mean my local FHC, Loved the story of the beads Laurie, what good luck. Yvette oh and I are great fans of Dr.Who, we watched all the old reruns. Laurie I'm so sorry about your friend, I feel for her poor parents. Luv Jillx |

You Know You Are A Genealogy Addict When..... * You brake for libraries. * You hyperventilate at the sight of an old cemetery. * You would rather read census schedules than a good book. * You are more interested in what happened in 1698 than 2006. * You think every home should have a copier and a microfilm reader. * You know every registrar of deeds in the state by name, but they lock the doors when they see you coming. * You store your clothes under the bed, because your closet is full of books and papers. * All of your correspondence begins 'Dear Cousin'. * You've traced every one of your ancestral lines back to Adam & Eve, have it documented, and still don't want to quit. Hope you enjoyed that. I think I have got it bad!!!! |

Wow Laurie, to Vinnies we will go. At first I thought that you said black beard and thought it must be a fancy dress party. LOL It's like watching Antiques Roadshow. I have an antique gramaphone, it's been in Nevilles family from new, must be 100 years old, guess what, it not worth much at all. There must be hundreds of them or something. Apart from Neville, that's the only old thing we have. Just kidding. Luv SuzyQ |

Ok Wattlers . . . how is this for luck . . . Neice just rang me to tell me about a friend of hers, she was going to the ball in Dubbo about two weeks ago, and needed some decoration for around the neck . . . went into Vinnies and saw some long black beards there and decided they would do the trick with the outfit. At the Ball a guy came up and offered her $500 for her beads, she thought if he is offering that much they must be worth more so said no. Had them valued last week . . . Black Pearls no less !!! Told her two children to go pick out a house each and she would buy it for them! See you all in Vinnies next week !!! cheers luv Laurie |

She has been reading our thread the past few days, but doesnt normally. Its bitterly cold, I agree, - I was just 'telling' my sister about how cold it was, and that the sun just can't get out from the clouds... Its looking like heavy rain heading our way this afternoon. .. You must be getting some? .. http://mirror(.)bom(.)gov(.)au/products/IDR033.shtml It's moments like these when you need Minties - or SOMETHING!! I always get hungry when its cold ! Jood |

Morning Wattlers, Lovely sunny day here by the Bay, there are only two giraffes with their heads up . . . so the ports are busy! We sat on the balcony and had brunch, watching the boats . . . five cruisers tied up alongside one another on anchor just off shore - silly blighters were having so much fun they didn't notice the tide go out and they got stuck on the sand - at least it kept us amused as they dragged one another off . . then they slunk of in shame I think! Lew, I have a death cert from UK dated 1920, and it is exactly the same info as those from the 1800's (basically nothing) bit of a let down after all the info you can get from our Aust ones isn't it. Thanks for your kind messages re Denny - I am a firm believer that everything happens for a purpose, sometimes it takes longer to work out a purpose than others - I think this one will take me a lot longer to come to terms with than most. I just realized this morning that I have only cooked a breaky & a brunch in 12 days - so am going to go the whole hog for dinner tonight and cook up a treat. (have thought maybe should cook a dud so the lovely Ray tells me not to bother anymore heehee) Royal bow to our great Queen . . . hope the nasty niggles are feeling better this morning - use the drugs !!! If your in pain say so and take the drugs offered till the body repairs. ((((Lots of gentle hugs)))) Well I have a pile of ironing to get through - Ray ended up with 11 new shirts at the Great Jakarta Sale - so I have to get them ironed and sort out the wardrobe - big trip to Anglicare comming up. Talk to you all later - have a great lazy Sunday cheers luv Laurie |

Thanks Jood. I asked on the Records Office and the only reply I got was to go look at the National Archives site which was no use to me at all! I just don't want to waste money getting a death certificate if it doesn't contain any relevant info. Lew x |

Can someone please tell me what information would be contained in a 1914 Death Certificate in the UK. Terry's grandfather was of german origin and died in an internment camp. I'm having trouble tracing his ancestors. Thanks, Lew x |

Jill I have English death certificates 1858 to 1901 - they all have have same format When and where died, Name and surname, sex, age, occupation, cause of death, signature, description and residence of informant, when registered and signature of registrar. A Welsh death certificate seems to be the same.although one of my females has as occupation - widow of john smith collier -which was good information to have. Good luck Anna |
