Hi Wilson We're all entitled to the odd CRAFT moment! We forgive you! Hope you have a great holiday and that you get the hire company sorted. They are certainly sounding a bit unreasonable! I heard on the news that Melbourne is the best city to live in according to some survey - no doubt our Melbournians will be feeling smug! Sounds like a good place for a Wattle meet - a bit far for me though I'm afraid. Cheers Anna |

Morning Wattlers, I have just had the nicest weekend with our grandson, weekend started on Friday morning with my father and his lady friend coming to visit for the day. Dined out (Chinese) for lunch and then took a trip on the talking tram. Caught up on a bit of history of Bendigo. My fathers family were miners in the area so while he reminised(sp) i made mental notes. Now i have some more FH stuff to find out. Then eldest daughter and grandson, 14 months arrived, so full weekend. Now i am about to start packing for our W A trip (leaving Wed). OH is has been giving instructions on how much i can pack, he thinks a couple of changes of clothes should do. That might be fine for his case, but he will find a few things of mine in there as well lol. Lovely to see Trifley back here, ((((hugs)))).Get home as soon as you can so you can get some rest. And did i read that there is a casino meet in August???? Are we talking Melbourne???? HHHmmmmmm i will be back by then, think i will try to get there. can someone pm me with the details? Have a good day everyone, i had better move, took me too long to catch up and now no time to write much. Take Care Wilson |

Goodmorning Wattlers Happy 15th birthday for Tamika today . . . A very grey Botany Bay today . . . quite a contrast to the light show we had out to sea last night. We didn't get much rain though. There are 7 giraffes with their heads held high, a heavily laden container ship is just making its way towards the docks so I guess a couple more of them will soon be hard at work. Lovely to see The Great Trifley one back on her puter . . . and with a number no less !!! - hope your feeling heaps better this morning Queen, get that wonderful mind of yours working with your body to repair itself so you can get home - best place for you! Have you tried a DO NOT DISTURB sign above the bed for those early morning calls !! So glad you were able to get down to see Di yesterday Pam, you were very brave to go near those two highways in and out of Brisbane on a Sunday. Good heavens !! just listening to TV . . . the average length of a marriage in the USA is 23 months . . . Mary, its all getting exciting isn't it . . . getting closer . . . getting real !!! All those things . . . feelings, sadness, memories, excitement ! Ah we humans are crazy things aren't we!!! Von . . . thats a lot of copper nails kiddo, specially if the fingers are cold! is the garage heated ??? . . . . If only our kids did come with a mummy manual !!! Good excuse to go buy some new shoes Yvette . . . . Dear me Lew . . . lost the touch ??? Not coming to Sydney meet ??? Goodness me . . . things is crook in Tullarook . . . Should we start a Wattle petition to Terry ???? I'm back off out to the hospital in a little while - the doctors have called a family conference for 10am, and Jenny . . Dennys younger sister asked if I could come out after that. She said after we left Nancy and Bill were talking about lots of good memories from when we were kids rather than just the sadness of the current situation. So I will catch you all later . . . have a good day and keep rugged up . . . Lots of healing, loving thoughts for our Queen cheers luv Laurie |

Good Morning Wattlers and it's still raining in Mudgee. Nothing heavy, just little sprinkles, but it's better than nothing. Now, saying that it's started to rain heavier! Nothing much planned for today which is good 'cause it's quite cold out. Hope you managed to get some sleep Trifles. Touch wood, I've never been to hospital, well I have visited, but never had to stay, lol. Make sure Watty behaves. Good on you Fluffy Duck. I'm Trifley was very happy to see your smiling face. Catching up with family, screaming at the footy and peening nails! ~~~waves to all the waffling Wattlers~~~ Lew Lew xxx who can't make it to the Sydney Meet :-((( |

Morning all, Nice one Tony :) Although I felt very sorry for my daughter yesterday - she was so tired due to lack of sleep. Her hubby isn't coping well either (I must say he is a model hubby, cooks, cleans, bathes grand-d and plays with her) but can't go without sleep. Poor daughter was having a small moan yesterday and I just grinned at her and told her she was spoilt!! She should have read the mummy manual a bit more closely. Gwenda, at least it's a wet day today so being inside isn't too bad. Going off to do Nanna duty today - she is sooooo responsive now and such a delight. Catch you in the arvo ~~~~~~~~~Vonny |

Good morning all, Tony, glad you had a nice day with the big kids and little kids, and loved all your anecdotes. Vonny, don't they have strange names for working on boats - peening, careening etc. Gwenda, sorry you have to work on your day off - think of it as extra spending money when you come up to the Casino! So far 10 girls and 1 oh are down for the 12 Aug meet. (that includes Leigh who is somewhere in Australia!) I had the weirdest dreams last night - not that I can remember any of them in the morning ! Hope you all have a nice day, and Trifley - it was really great chatting to you - am looking forward to meeting you for real. Jood |

Evening all Trifley - congratulations for getting the number, What a clever little Queenie you are! I'm so pleased Fluffy Ducky was able to visit you. Well done Ducky and thanks for the update on the Queen. Any word on when you are going home yet Queen? You must be feeling better if you're turning into a grumpy old woman! Tony - loved the jokes about children. We can all relate to those! You didn't tell me if it's my turn for Lotto this week. Vonny - looks like you've got a few hours ahead of you on that boat. My OH was suitably impressed. Glad you liked our Mayor. She is a bit of a rough diamond - she never pretends to be anything else - but she has a heart of gold and has done so much for the youth of our town. She really believes in recycling and it's going to make or break her politically. As for the millionaire and past mayor - he is very generous and has also done so much for this town. He left school at 14 and started in the building industry and has worked very hard to get where he is today. However he is against anything the current council proposes on principle - I think he feels that this mayor and these town councillors are not a patch on the council when he was mayor. I feel so sorry for those people who are going to lose their farms in the Mary River valley. Off to bed. Sleep tight everyone. Love Anna |

Evening. We spent a lovely afternoon with our kids and grandkids. My family is growing,( 14 of us now ) and with my kids, spouses and grandkids the house is well and truly used. Before i met Barb, she lived on her own ( Divorced ) for 13 years, and used to tell me her only excitement for the weekend was to go out to freinds places and admire and join in other families fun times, but now to sit back and watch her play mum and grandma with my girls, she is really enjoying her time, and fusses over them. Why god created children and then grandchildren. To those of us who have children in our lives, whether they are our own, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or students...here is something to make you chuckle. Whenever your children are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even God's omnipotence did not extend to his own children After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve. And the first thing he said was 'DON'T!' 'Don't what?' Adam replied. 'Don't eat the forbidden fruit.' God said. 'Forbidden fruit? We have forbidden fruit? Hey Eve..we have forbidden fruit!!!!!' 'No Way!' 'Yes way!' 'Do NOT eat the fruit!' said God. 'Why' 'Because I am your Father and I said so!' God replied, wondering why he hadn't stopped creation after making the elephants. A few minutes later, God saw his children having an apple break and he was ticked! 'Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit?' God asked. 'Uh huh,' Adam replied. 'Then why did you?' said the Father. 'I don't know,' said Eve. 'She started it!' Adam said 'Did not!' 'Did too!' 'DID NOT!' Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own. Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed. BUT THERE IS REASSURANCE IN THE STORY! If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give children wisdom and they haven't taken it, don't be hard on yourself. If God had trouble raising children, what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for you? THINGS TO THINK ABOUT! 1. You spend the first two years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up. 2. Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your own children. 3. Mothers of teens now know why some animals eat their young. 4. Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said. 5. The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own. 6. We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in. ADVICE FOR THE DAY: Be nice to your kids. They will choose your nursing home one day. AND FINALLY: IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF TENSION AND YOU GET A HEADACHE, DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE ASPIRIN BOTTLE: 'TAKE TWO ASPIRIN' AND 'KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN'!!!!! Have a great day to-morrow everyone. Nite, nite Tony Oz....:>))) .......one warn out grandad. |

Trifley - peeNing lol. N makes all the difference, but your excused. Lovely to see you online. Most of you should have a photo of the boat by now but if you didn't and you want one just message me and I'll send tomorrow. Anna - saw your town on telly. What a nice lady your mayor is - I liked her. Didn't like your richest man very much but, I must say, I don't like recycled water to drink. Lots of Asian countries (and American ones) have it but they all buy bottled water for drinking. Are you allowed tanks?? We put in the biggest ones we were allowed for the garden but we will connect them to the house if we have to. Our water restrictions have eased since our dams came back on line - nearly all of them were put out of commission by the Bush Fires. Also, we have a new treatment plant to clean dirty water (just silt and stuff) and pump it into a large dam near Queanbeyan for future use if needed. We pay higher water rates now though. off for an early-ish night. Minding Grand D tomorrow so her mummy can go and teach others how to take over her job, which she is leaving on Friday. Night all ~~~~~~~~Vonny |
