The heavens have opened up in Melb. Looked out to check the washing and all was ok, walked into the kitchen and down it came ( the rain not the Kitchen..lol) Ran out to grab the towels and got drenched, haven't seen rain like this for ages. Welcome to the Wattlers thread Lorraine. We really need someone from WA to keep us up with what is happening over there in the West. What a joy a granchild is - congratulations. Sorry to hear your health has not been good but the Wattlers are always here to cheer you up if necessary - they are all mad except me! Just beware of a certain Dr Lew. Between you and I she is not a REAL Doctor and is guilty of overprescribing! Hope to see you back on the thread soon Cheers Anna

Hello to Lara and everyone else from Lorraine Cable in Perth. Well Lara, a lot has happened in the past 12 months, I became a grandmother for the first time, Ayden is 10 months old, my daughter got married last September and is expecting a baby in December. We sold our house and built another, been in it 3 months, settled down quite nicely, but lots of painting to do in the near future. My health has not been too good on and off this year backwards and forwards to the Dr's but I suppose we will get there in the end. Will look in again shortly, Lorraine

Afternoon Wattlers, I'm a bit late but hope you enjoy your 59 th birthday today Lara. Don't do anything we wouldn't. Laurie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Denny's family. Sophie is a little better today, she has actually walked a few steps this morning, so we know there is no paralysis, which we were starting to worry about. It was a very cold morning this morning and it's not much better now. August usually is a cold month when we get the westerly's. Glad your Nan enjoyed her birthday Devily. I only ever knew one grand parent, but she was wonderful. She lived next door for most of my life so spent lots of time with her. I have got a birthday for tomorrow with a ? by it. Hi Wattlers, mad Monday again, golly it comes around quick. Today had porridge and yoghurt for lunch. thought it would last the longest. just about to wash it down with caffeine mix. only on the fly by but had to have a squiz. Happy B/day Lara. Afternoon Wattlers, well all the H***K is done just a roast lamb to cook for tonight and thats it for today. Have to keep an eye on the weather, rain is trying to fall but I put the washing out anyway cause the wind is blowing nicely. Lara, have a wonderful day, hope the family comes up with some great pressies. Laurie, have been thinking of you and your friends family. Once they get over the initial shock and guilt feelings they will know they have done the right thing. It takes a while but I'm sure you are being a great comfort to them. Since I have retired from life's competition, I accommodate myself with complete repetition. I get up each morning, and dust off my wits, pick up my paper and read the 'obits'. Morning Wattlers, Happy Bithday to you Lara, are you doing anything special today? Ron and I went for a drive yesterday to find the venue a young friend is hiring for her wedding in Sept. It's an old, I was going to say Q'lander but it's not as the house is in NSW, in a very small village near Lismore, Dunoon anyone heard of it? took us ages to find the place, better than on the day of the wedding, thats why we did it. Our D in UK is coming home for the occasion, she and the bride are best friends, it'll be so lovely to see Jo again, can't wait for 17th.Sept, thats when she gets here. The wedding's on the 30th. Jo is bringing her young man with her, our first time of meeting him. All the family in Wales plus my sister when she was over in May have met him, they all think he's great, 'good husband material' said Auntie Elsie. We have also been told he wants to formerly ask us for our blessing to the marriage. How romantic is that. Trifley, how are you? taking it easy I hope. Did you say you were seeing your doctor sometime this week? Laurie, my thoughts go to you and your friend's family. Wilson if you look in I hope you are having a great time. Sandra I poped in yesterday quickly before going out didn't have time to reply I wanted to say we also saw Phantom in London but much prefered the production in Sydney and the one in Brisbane. Morning Wattlers, we have a cloudy but fine day here today. After all the cream and pork rind and other yummy food, I only put on about half a kilo, so thats not too bad. Lara Happy Birthday to you, it is also my Mums, birthday today, it is only fair that 2 great ladies share the same birth day, Mum was born 7 years earlier. Well that is 3 down one to go in our birthday fortnight, birthdays in my family that is. I hope you have a terrific day and it is all you hoped it would be. Lyn, Yes I do know how lucky I am to still have my Nan, she is the only one of my Grandparents still alive, and I was lucky enough to know 3 of the 4 grandparents. Had to laugh with your comment on our roads over here, although they are getting better I still think they can improve a bit. But as long as you respect the conditions and the roads you are ok and they are quite safe. We don’t get traffic jams like in mainland cities but we do get a small peak hour traffic jams around in the city especially on main arterial roads, but that only lasts about an hour. Gwenda yes Nan did have a great day and just to see the look on her face when someone turned up that she hadn’t seen for a while, it was well worth doing, and she hated to just sit and talk while everyone else organised the afternoon tea, but there was too many of us for her to argue with :-) Vonny thanks, and yes I am looking forward to meeting all of the Wattlers that are there, everyone sounds soooo nice on her and I’m sure they are. Laurie, sending hugs to you and Denny’s family. Well I will be gone for a little while, I am going for my walk and of course I will be calling in to see Mum while I’m out. 12 Sleeps. Cheers Sue
