Mary. Iv'e always had my own theory about the food we eat today, as opposed to the food we ate yesteryear. Today it is how fast can we grow it, and what chemical can we add to it to make it look desirable and last longer. Our meat is chemically injected. Our chickens are chemically injected. our Veggies are sprayed with all sorts of chemicals to produce the best and the fastest to beat the competition, but our immune system cant cope with it, so it retaliates.....My Theory/Answer .....lol.... Grow ya own Veggies, and wack horse/cow manure on them.....( like the good ol days ) if you have the room in ya garden......Eat more freshly caught fish and sea fooods. They cant inject it ( in the Sea )......or chemically spray it.........yet, that i know of. There tryin ta poison us off, so they dont have ta pay us the pension.....:>)))...*off me soap box*....lol Years ago i enjoyed, T-boneSteak/EyeFillet/Porterhouse cooked med/rare......now i wouldnt touch it with a forty foot pole, and at any restaurant now i ask for well done, thank you.........then walk/jog every morning to burn it orf. Whats for Tea?...........Oats, and a V.B tablet.....lol Tony Oz....:>)))) |

Helloo all, Great Auntie Laurie, What a fine young man, congratulations to all concerned and I loved the Dad comment about all the shades of blue, special. Fancy having five big brothers, he will have to develop a big personality!! Lara, I am definately going to try the Bounce trick especially if it works on a computer screen - mine are always dusty! I spray the bottom of my kitchen garbage bin with old perfume (unwanted gift type stuff thast I won't wear I mean - not the Chanel No 5 LOL !) Just spent a bit of time looking at Tony's Scotland pics on GC too, oh how lurverly and green it looks. Can't stay today, back tomorra' ~~ Hz in Albury (cold, WET !! wintry) ~~ |

Yep, brought my kids up on gripe water and phenergan too!! Now all the stuff we bought 'over the counter' is banned!!! I must admit though, that we had one instance of the phenergan doing exactly the opposite and making the kid go hyper!! My daughter tells me that they don't encourage them to burp the baby between sides any more! Whatever is the world coming to?? I am sure I would have been branded the 'worst mother in the world' if I didn't burp them between 'sides'!! AND now it is a no-no to put baby on their tummy to sleep, on their back is best, but we were positively encouraged to place them face down to prevent choking!! Wonder of it is that any kids survive!! LOL ~~~~Vonny |

Afternoon wattlers Laurie...big hugs of congratulations to the new mum. Another boy.....can you get the father to ring my niece's husband and explain how he does it? Rebecah and Troy have 3 lovely little girls but would dearly love a little boy. I think Troy must be doing something wrong and should get a few hints.....pmsl. Shaz...hope the tummy is better today. I had a baby lead for Mark....had to...he was a little bastard for wandering off. I used to get criticised for having him on a lead like a dog. seing the behaviour of some toddlers in shops today....perhaps they should make a come back. Joodles....I used Bonjela on Mark as soon as he needed it. But then again I used to slip him a teaspoon of phenergan like Tony did. A good nights sleep was had by all. It's probably politically incorrect now to do things like that. Gwenda...how is 3C today? Healing hugs on their way. Hi Cat person.....thanks for the 'E'card you are very thoughtful. SuzyQ.......how is your dog today? On the improve I hope. PMSL about the 'talking dog'. Lew...that meal sounded yummy. I assume the appropriate wines accompanied each course? A most civilised way to eat. Hi Vonny....got your cute cat card...thanks for your thoughts. I hope today isn't a 'downer' for John. Don't worry, in a year or so you'll look back and think...'sh*t, what a bastard of a time' ...but it will be in the past where it should be. Hugs for John. Lara...I haven't seen Bounce for years. Can you still buy it here? I know a friend of ours who used to work for QANTAS would bring in a few boxes every time he came back from the States. I didn't realise it was so versatile. What's a 'yellow jacket'? Being a hint from the postal service it's not a bullet is it? Mary...'Bounce' was a product you put in your clothes dryer with your clothes. Each sheet was about the size of a paper towel and impregnated with chemicals to soften your clothes and stop 'static cling' It was very popular in the States where they seemed to use a dryer most of the time. I haven't seen it for some time. Hi Flakey.....babies...isn't it amazing all the 'wrong' things we did but they still survived. I look at Mark and think it couldn't have been too bad. Tony....looks as if your first lovely wife went to the common sense school of child raising too. Wish your mum a happy birthday. Have fun tonight. I'm going to have a snooze now. I tried before but the phone rang a couple of times. The afternoon sun is streaming in our bedroom window and the cat is asleep on our bed so that must be the place to snooze. I'll catch up with you all later. love Trifley X |

Looks like we were all in the same boat when bringing up our kids..Everything they told us to do they now say is no good.. Did any of you have the book by Dr.Spock.. It was my bible and now they say it is all wrong..Its a wander our kids survived..They have all grown up to be fine people but do they now know how luckey they were...LOL They now say you should not smoke or drink alcahol or you may have a small baby...I did both ,though not heavily, but my babies were smallest 9lb and the largest 12lb so I now say thank goodness I did do both otherwise they coould have all been bigger,,not a happy thought.. OH has gone to the Specialist this afternoon, I am a bit worried about him, he hasent been to good lately, Still getting pains in his legs..Hope the specialist can give him something for it.. Well better go and do some more work back later Love Maryxxx |

Hello to Karen, Kerrie and Raggy Bear, I dont think I have said hello yet, nice to see a few more faces on the thread Tony Congrats to your Mum, What a lovely thought to do some work around the house, as Im assuming your Mum is like most and they say they dont want anything for their birthday, and have probably got nearly everything they need. Thanks for the Wattlelotto from Jood this week. I have actually aready bought the one for next week 12 Aug, as with the meet on the same weekend, I didnt want to forget to buy it. Will forward it to you later. Mary I too are hoping you can make it to the Casino, I think you would have to be one of the first people I spoke to on here and definately the first on on messenger. And as my warning to renew has popped on the side of the page, means I have been here for nearly 2 years :-)) Laurie, Congrats on the new G.Nephew, it sounds like your Niece will not stop until she has a girl. I will have to get you to let me know what the 4 - 5 day forecast is when you know, for the following weekend, so I know how many jumpers, coats, scalves etc to pack .......... Oh hang on it doesnt get that cold in Sydney does it ???? Well its not long now till my little trip, I am getting excited, meeting all you lovely people for the first time. This weekend is going to be a busy one, we have got a state meeting on Saturday, which is being held in Launceston, we have got 3 people from Burnie staying at our house and to top it off we have got the girls as there has been a change of plans, anyway we will fit them all in. Then it is off to the Casino Saturday night for a meal, with everyone from the meeting and partners. maybe like the place we will be eating at in the Sydney Casino. $28.00 all you can eat buffett. So I guess David wont be taking me out on Sunday for my birthday, not that it will worry me, I am happy just to spend it with David and the children. Ok coffee time be back shortly. Hello all congraulations to Auntie Laurie what a dear little boyand the no doubt proud parents . Iam pasting this emaiI got re these bounce sheets that you put in your tumble dryer as they say if you have soap scum on the shower door it will also take that off as well as numerous other hints for > US Postal Service sent a message to all carriers to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets to keep yellow-jackets away. I use it when I am working outside. It really works. The yellow jackets just veer around you. OTHER USES: 1. It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice. 2. Spread sheets around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle. 3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often. 4. It repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season. 5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen. 6. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling. 7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce. 8. To freshen the air in your home - Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet. 9. Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner. 10. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew. 11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing 12. To freshen the air in your car - Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat. 13. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan. 14. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket. 5. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs. 16. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling. 17. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth. 18. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper. 19. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight. 20. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away. 21. Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh Quick, bounce this on within the next 5 minutes! Nothing will happen if you don't, but your friends will be glad to hear these hints! it too , Will be back later have to make cheesescake for barbecue tonight |

Good Mooorrning, Good Mooorrning, Good Morning to everyone, Today it is Thursday, and there is much work to be done !!! PMSL . . . Miss Miles would be so proud of me . . . . Thats a nice idea Von, a nice night of reflection, sounds like John has been through the wringer since his mum died - thankfully mine has all settled down and just like a bad dream, but the family will never be the same. I have just put a photo of Benjamin James Kelly on page 6 of GCPhotopages - in AussiePics (page2). I am off out to Bathurst in the morning, and will take note of your advice Mary and leave early. I dont enjoy the trip through the townships at the best of times on that road, all the different speed restrictions. I like to set cruise control and just go! cheers luv Laurie |
