Oh Penny that's so sweet. I remember leaving home several times when I was little. Once I even got as far as the end of my street with my suitcase full of teddies and my Dad drove past in the car and said 'just wanted to make sure you had enough money for the bus'. Daisy |

Mum left home aged 23, when she married my dad. Dad left home aged 33, 3 years afte getting married. I'm a part-timer at home, But don't want to leave! I've alread told mum that when I get my hands on the house, up will come the floors and down go underfloor heating, just so I can get rid of the radiaters that me anf mum insist are in the wrong place (directly under the windows - whats the piont?) Must admit, I never left home or ran away. my parents thought I had once aged 7, but i had just got held up walking fron a to b. I got a smack grounded and no pocket money. guess I never dared try when I got older. |

Aw That's sweet. My older daughter 'left home' when she was about 4 and I'd just told her off. I let her pack her little bag with her new t-shirt, pair of trainers, skipping rope and a book about dinosaurs (the essentials of life obviously!) She got as far as the gate but decided she'd go another day. We photographed the contents of the bag to show her when she was older. The younger one really did run away from home overnight when she was 14. That was a lot scarier. Now they are 21 and 20......one at university and one at home and I could do with the space if they left!! But no signs of either moving out permanently yet. LOL Hope your little ones change their minds before bedtime.....maybe a favourite supper might encourage them to stay. Sue |

My cousin tried to run away when he was little, he hust have been about six., he pack a little case and made a bundle attached to a stick (think dick wittington) and off he went. His mum intersepted him in the garden and herded him in the house, she told him he could run away but he had to leave everything behind including the clothes he had on. he decided home was better than running away naked! How at 27 he followed his heart and run away to the other side of the planet, but he's happy and in love. |
