James - it took something of a genius to play the violin as bad as Vic Oliver - brings to mind Victor Borge playing 'Tea for Two' and getting the audience to sing along -then changing key twice - then stopping and asking the audience 'What's wrong. don't you know it ?'

I remember them all. I loved them all too. When my mother and father bought the Television I cried. The radiogram was in the livingroom.... with the new bl**min tele, so I could not listen to my favourites. Educating Archie? The Glums? All the ones you have remembered. The music was 'Festival at Baghdad' from Rimsky- Korsakov's 'Scheherezade' Anyone remember 'Sunday Night at Seven' which became 'Sunday Night at Eight-o-Clock' with Ronnie Waldman hosting the quiz -'Get your pencil and your paper out - you're the winner if you know about' Good night All you Ovaltineys !

What about Journey into Space in the early 50's? Jet Morgan and his sidekick Lemmy, plus Doc. We used to draw the curtains and turn the light off to get the full benefit of the atmosphere! Unbelievable nowadays!

Sandra that would have been 'Life is Bliss' with Percy Edwards as the voice of Psyche the dog. I wanted to call my very first dog Psyche but my Mum and Dad absolutely refused. Over the years hubby's maintained the veto so I guess I'll never have a dog called Psyche! Cherry

Yeah, I remember - and we didn't have a wireless for years. I used to go to my friends to listen to the Goons. Round the Horn, Navy Lark., with John Pertwee, Lesley Philips I got the tapes from the BBC some years ago and still listend to the Navy Lark IYMA - it's that man again, and TTFN - ta ta for now.
