Elaine, Don't know about it coming with the territory - you don't really expect to be robbed in the middle of the desert do you lol I quite liked the camels... till I got on one. SO uncomfortable, especially since they were going quite quickly and over 5/6 foot dunes... for and hour. My bum was sore for days lol Thanks for the email x and thanks everyone else for the welcome back... Paul |

Yes, I'd do it again. I don't think I'd want to go straight back to the sahara, WHEN I do another trek, I want to go somewhere else, but I would go ack there at a later date. |

Yes it was as tough as expected. Hotter than we though, we weer expecting high 20's most days, we got high 30's - one day we hit 43 degrees. It was also a lot windier than we expected - one afternoon we walked into a headwind, which you can imagine is horrible with all that sand. The next afternoon was even worse, and everyone was taken on to camp in a landrover, except a couple of us who braved it with the guides and tried to walk it. Only got about halfway though, had to give up and go on the camels. Which I didn't enjoy at all !!! Feet ? they vary. Mine are fine, no problems at all. Quite a few ended up with blisters. Poor Tracey, her feet were in a terrible state, I don't know how she managed to keep walking, she was in pain with every step for most of the week - an incredible show of determination. |

No gossip. Sorry, but its true. I think everyone would have been too bloody knackered anyway lol THere were actually more trees than I would have expected on some days, but on others... very few and far between. On the last couple of days, the terrain was almost completely flat, with no cover at all, no dunes, no vegitation... so it was just a queston of hanging back a bit behind the group, drop your pants and get on with it... |
