Jess yes you have put into writing the thoughts of loads of us now, such a shame things could not have been left for the people involved to sort out themselves or via GR . Would be gutted if General went it is the light hearted side of this great site, or it used to be, think is time we all started to add some lighter general posts;; Hmmmm but would that help I don't know??? Hi Jess I don’t think that GR will remove the General board because they can’t even be bothered to stop banned members from rejoining, etc, etc! However, I agree with what you have said, and I have removed my thread. Although I am still very upset about being falsely accused and treated in a sneaky way, I will take note of what has been said to me by people who know me, and the people for whom I have done genuine lookups. I know it wasn’t me, so I won’t add fuel to the very unpleasant fire that is currently the General board by leaving the thread up. Hopefully that will be doing my little bit to make the board a more pleasant place. Mandy

For 2 nights now I have gone to bed with a heavy heart, and woken up with one......not because of anything at home though Monday wasn't a good day, but because of watching people tearing each other apart. I love General and have laughed and cried with the people here. Now I just feel fed up and heart weary, I don't want to loose the very wonderful parts of this board happy and sad, or the people here, but seriously wonder if waking up upset by nastiness on a board is really good for me or my family.

hi jess perhaps trouble maker wasnt the right word lol someone who makes sweeping statements and intentionally sets out to cause unrest. it has happened so often when there is no need. people are so intent on posting private emails on the boards.why? im not interested in other peoples arguments and im sure that many others arent either. i hope i havent upset you jess by saying this but im so angry with the way the board is now. i havent been on genes for a few weeks cos of the bickering. ive been a member for 3 years and have never seen anything like what is happening now susie

The people who write horrible things on the boards must really enjoy reading about the trouble they cause. I suppose in their peverse way they are 'basking ' in their so called 15 minutes of Fame. Pity we couldn't just ignore them and not rise to their bait!! Love and peace to everyone Maureen X

Steve if you get an abusive pm and ask genes then they will block the sender for you. Sadly they can still be nasty or snidey to you on the board, or talk about you to others in pm's or in other ways. If someone is determined to cause trouble then they will unfortunately. Ignoring them is one way, but it never happens does it?! Maz. XX

But what constitutes a trouble maker , Susie, (or anyone else that can define?) someone that post a callous/ ill-thought out / snappy/ opinionated / derogatory comment or remark?

Jess I have a cunning plan, well not realy but perhaps its time to try and make GR listen to the members we need two things to happen. 1/ the boards need moderators with 5 million members of GR alone anything could happen. 2/ this a simple thing to do but GR needs to give members the right to block another member if they have recieved nasty pms from them (not the name but membership no) How do we go about this............well an email to GR with a list of all the members who want this place cleaned up. members correct name plus membership number perhaps that my ring a bell or two. Steve just my thoughts on it.

I am afraid we are talking about life.When i worked in Tescos we used to say everyone should be vetted before they could shop in our shop.The public can be so rude.Lots of people nowadays dont give a hoot about anyone else.Dont think that is going to change.If we treat this like a shop and just dont answer anyone thats out for trouble they may switch off. i dont think genes should get rid of the general board. instead they should stop the trouble makers from using it. people are so tactless in wat they say and hence this causes upset and people take it the wrong way im sick to death of the bickering on the threads. if people air their trouble on the boards then im sorry but they are asking for problems. we all have problems in our private lives but we dont all tell the world and his wife susie

Jess, you do make so much sense dont you!!! The only thing i think i might disagree on is when you say that its down to US...well most of us are careful with what we say, and if and when we offend MOST of us are big enough to put there hands up and apologise....and sometimes the offended will accept that apology....but what about the people who stir trouble on purpose, who go out there way to gossip, get nasty and cause offence on purpose, you and i have both had that treatment and although WE didnt cause it we couldnt do anything or much about it. Thats why i think that maybe there should be moderators on here. Im willing to take the job LOL...(if paid well enough) xx

I agree, I too have a friend who is not renewing. I find fewer people on here too. Very sad, as when I first found this board, I was so adicted to it, and there was fun all day on it. Good morning all. Deanna X

''why don't GR do something about all this nastyness.?'' what can GR do ? they cannot prevent you or I typing the words we choose to type. IT is up to US, each individual ! not GR! (going to stick the box lid down...)
